Cheapest place to buy AEV Front Premium Bumper?

Hopefully not breaking any forum rules - anybody know the cheapest place to buy the AEV Front Premium Bumper (https://secure.aev-conversions.com/s...ode=10305055AA) ? Imagine the shipping runs pretty high. Maybe someone knows a place with free shipping deal for holidays?

You check with any of the vendors here?

Once my wallet recovers from the rims, tires and lift I'll be buying the same bumper. So far the best price I received was from Northridge 4x4.

Great company I hear. I would say that's your best bet.

Northridge 4x4 is great...they often do free shipping, though I'm not sure about an AEV bumper.

As kjeeper mentioned, I would check with the forum vendors...they'll usually price match, and many of them offer free shipping, as well.

When I buy a big-ticket item like bumpers, I usually gather prices from near and far, sometimes from as many as a dozen vendors.

Then, like a cobra, I strike!

EDIT: Okay, maybe more like a garter snake.

I ordered it from OK4WD. The guys were awesome. My original one came in with a scratch and they offered a discount. I said no, send me a new one. They did just that and it was sent directly from AEV. All in all, took about a week and a half or so.

Although I order from Northridge all the time, they've inflated the AEV bumper cost to compensate for the free shipping, and its a little cheaper at OK4WD.

Thanks for replies everyone. Looks like Northridge has OK4WD beat by about $65 when I order with winch plate, skid plate, and shipping. Northridge sells premium bumper with winch plate, which they confirmed over phone is for 2012 model (AEV has different winch plate for 2007-2011 models). Lets get 'er done - Merry Christmas to me!

Good info there, thanks!

I'm going for that one too, but have to scrape the cash together...once we recover from the holidays that is.

Low price and AEV don't go hand in hand. Overpriced hardware IMO. Their bumpers are nice though and the heat reduction hood. Carry on.

Agree - It's a ridiculous amount to pay for a bumper, about twice the cost of comparables. I don't see any extraordinary material or manufacturing process mentioned to justify such a high price either. Sucks I like it so much. I'm working on premise that the Aztecs are correct about world ending in 2012, so I'm going out in style.

Northridge definitely gets a thumbs up. I like it when somebody calls me after placing large order. They even upgraded my winch selection at very minimal cost. Just another FYI on this bumper, if you plan on installing winch you'll save a couple of hours down the road installing it with the bumper. You will have to take it off again if you install winch after the fact. Looking forward to this January project, just what the doctor ordered.

Comparables? Which bumpers with crush cans have you found that are half the price? The only other one I'm aware of with crush cans is the ARB and that requires cutting out the stock crush cans from the stock bumper and drilling and mounting them on the new bumper. A bit more fab work and still not 1/2 the cost.

Which other bumpers are stamped steel like the OEM bumper which are also 1/2 the price of the AEV?

There are cheaper bumpers for sure but none with those features I have seen so far.

Crush cans are pointless. There are much nicer bumpers IMO that are also just as heavy duty. Granted it's personal preferance as I am not a full width bumper fan. My favorites are Poison Spyder's BFH and Brawler Lite, Hanson and LoD stubby and even Rugged Ridge XHD.

Like I said though I am not a full width fan nor an AEV fan. BTW check out this stubbied AEV bumper. Custom made for a guy on the other forum by Nemesis.

as far as i know, aev is one of those companies that tries its best to ensure every vendor sells at the same price; so most discounts will come from shipping

I stand corrected. I knew I wanted this bumper a month ago when I stopped looking, facts got muddled in my head between then and yesterday when I posted. All I remember is it was bumper for me and allot more expensive then 'other' aftermarket bumpers. I reviewed Quadratec again (nice place to go window shopping) and agree, it's in line with others like it.

Curious - Anyone know if AEV bumpers are actually made in America?

I'm able to reduce the truck freight costs for the AEV bumpers, PM me for a quote! The AEV bumpers are stamped in michigan and are welded in either Michigan or Montana. They are 100% US made bumpers

Crush cans protect against unwanted airbag deployment at low speeds. That's why they are a part of OEM bumpers.

That may not be important or an acceptable trade off not having them for many people. I ride motorcycles which are a trade off in safety vs riding everywhere in a car or better yet an eighteen wheeler.

But crush cans are not pointless.

Does anyone know if the AEV bumper will accept the Warn Powerplant now that you can get it tubeless?

Read somewhere, not without trimming.

At this time it will not accept the powerplant winch. I'm sure it is possible with trimming, but we would not recommend that as it could compromise the structural integrity that AEV prides this bumper on (which is a class of its own!)

Currently the bumper will be available around Mid-January. AEV is filling all of Chrysler's orders first for the MW3 edition JK's. After that, they'll be available for the general public.

They'll be $1099.99 for the bumper plus truck freight charges. I can work on those freight costs for forum members though.

I definitely love the aev bumpers. I have both the front and rear with tire rack plus the hood. I love how they kind if blend into the rest of the jeep. More of a stock look. Plus they are pretty tough. I orderedd the front bumper and skid plate through mopar (at the dealership). Saved on shipping but had to pay tax. They also gave me somethong like %15 off list. I woukd have to check my receipt if i still have it.

Man I wish I could order a MW3 in a color I like better. Adding both bumpers and the hood would be a great addition. Priced one of them beasts out and it added like another $6000 to the price. I may have to go recheck this since my delivery date is months away. That or see what Joe has for a combo package of bumpers, hood and wheels. Too bad they aren't in Montana (bumpers might be I guess) since I live like 300 miles south of Missoula.
