Check Engine Light 2013 6 Speed

Hey Guys, I just got a check engine light on my 2013 JKU 6 speed with 2600mi on my way to work. Luckily I was only a half mile from home so I turned around and parked it. The engine was running very rough and the shifter was shaking like crazy in neutral. Seems like it dropped a cylinder or two. I tried the key off-on, off-on, off-on but didn't get any codes, maybe I didn't wait long enough. Any ideas or common trouble spots?

Its a 2013 with a fresh warranty... time to visit the dealer.

I know it sounds stupid, but does it have gas? I hope this isn't the first head issue on a 13'.

Yes it has gas. Just wondering if there is a common trouble spot on newer JKs so the dealer doesn't try to bs me. IMHO if something is going to break it is going to do so early on or very late on after tons of miles.

Check engine lights that come on and are solid are typically emission issues. Was it solid, or was it flashing? I am not sure of anything in regards to common issues but I would surely take it to the dealer. I know it sounds funny but double check that your gas cap is secured. This can often throw check engine lights. Could be your o2 sensors, tons of different stuff.

In case anyone is interested I pulled the codes on my own last night so I could determine if it was safe to drive to the dealer. P0300 random/multiple cyl misfire, P000C camshaft position slow response, and P0019 Crankshaft-camshaft position correlation. It is at the dealer now, fingers crossed.

The dealer was diagnosing the issue today and they are still working on it. They ran a bunch of diagnostics and ended up contacting the Chrysler engineers. My service advisor told me it could be a head issue and they are waiting to hear back. The mechanic then heard back from Chrysler and they are going to run more diagnostics and likely replace the cam phasers.
