Check Engine Light...

It came on today, I have 2962 miles on it. The "Change Oil" warning started flashing on the display around 2600 miles, but it stopped yesterday. Could this be why the check engine light came on, because maybe it thinks it's past due?

Did you happen to pull the Dip Stick and check the Oil Level? Might be a little low.

Best of Luck!

Cheers!

My oil light usually comes on way before a change is due. Read your manual on how to re-set it. Check engine light, i would check gas cap. Usually its an emission problem. Click gas cap at least 3 times and light should go off after a few ignition cycles.

The gascap flashed earlier this week, but stopped. I'll keep trying.

Odd, my wife's former Isuzu Rodeo had to have the Gas Cap clicked 4 times, otherwise it would activate the "Check Engine Light" also. Every time we took it to the Dealer to have the Light Reset, they said it only showed a "Ghost Code" on their computer. I didn't realize that Jeeps had the same "Ghost".

Hopefully Iamagolfspaz's suggestion will work out for you!

Best of Luck Ursine!

Cheers!

So I took it in for an oil change today and had them check the cause for the light. They said there was a hose that got bumped loose that is back by the gas tank on the other side of the skid plate. I'm guessing this is the reason for the Gas Cap light flashing last week, too.

I don't know. I asked him to be more specific and all he said was "It's on the other side of the skid plate."

Check engine light on

I have a 2011 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited it has about 640 miles I have filled up the tank three times , and three different stations.
Could the type of gas I'm using have something to do with it ( regular, and the cheapest stations whatever they maybe) or messed up gas cap? Considering taking it to dealership, this car is too new to be giving problems already

You should take it to the dealership.
