Angry Check Engine Light On

I disconnected the battery yesterday and today when I started my Jeep, it ran a bit rough and the check engine light came on. I drove it about 20 miles and it's still on. I turned it on and off a couple of times and it is still on. Everything under the hood looks normal. Idears? Is it the computer readjusting?

Did you try tightening the gas cap? I've had that happen before, but not the JK. My CEL is on too, after I disconnected the IAT & did the the Procal for my tire size.

Yup, but no cigar.

To check your JK Codes, use this sequence on your ignition. Insert key and turn the ignition On-Off-On-Off then back to the On position and then notice the codes given in the odometer read-out.

I did this, but no codes. What it does is draw a dashed line, then this: DoNE then the engine flashes and stays on.

Up here in the DFW area and down in Huntsville I know that Autozone will pull your codes for free. Not sure if you have one in Baytown but if so you might want to see what a scan tool will show.

I just reset it with my AEV Procal and I'll see if it was a fluke.

uh-oh any loud ticking? Happened to me once (no code), cleared with bat reset, and a week later I got the misfire code.

Bert, are you still running 4.88s on stock tires? Hows that working out for you?

Okay, forst off, I reset the engine code with my Procal and that fixed it. Must have been a spike when I reattached the battery cable.

Second, I am swapping in the 4.88's, etc. on the 26th and I'll reset the computer with the procal and give a report after I drive it. Thanks for asking.
