CIPA 15000 mirrors

Hey guys,

I just received my soft doors from Bestop and look to be everything and more that I expected from them. Unfortunately I cant drive around with them until I get some mirrors put on.

On another site I read that the CIPA 15000 universal mirrors fit on the windshield bracket, and I have them, but I don't see how to get them on. The torx screws in the bracket are way too bir to fit the mirrors.

Does anyone have these mirrors on their jeep and if so how did you get them on? I am new to this stuff, so it may be something simple I am missing, but I just cant figure it out.

here is the link for them if anyone is unfamiliar with them.

Amazon.com: CIPA 15000, Reversible Mount, Black Finish: Automotive

Any ideas guys? anything would be appreciated as I am a newbie to this stuff.

Thanks!

If you look at your Jeep, about a foot above the top door hinge, is where they mount. Some folks believe they mount in that area near the windshield wipers. They go on the strip of steel that seperates the windshield from the door. You MIGHT need longer bolts to mount them.

If you're still confused I'll take a picture on my jeep as to where they go.

Sure. It's dark here and this flashlight didn't do me any justice. But these are the 2 bolts you are after. For reference, the glare/reflection to the right of where I've got the light is actually my side mirror with full doors on. This is also my driver side.

anyone have any experience with these? know if they stick out any further than the relocation brackets to give better visibility with the doors on?

This is a pretty good overview. Some good reviews, some bad. Risky, but it looks like there are thtings you can do to limit the whistling noise.

Hey guys, one more quick question regarding the CIPA 1500s.

The bracket that the mirrors came with in no way fit the bolts on the windshield bracket. It was provided with two smalls screws, but although they fit the bracket on the mirrors, they don't fit the windshield bracket.

I have taken some pics of what I am talking about but I can't figure out how to load them. I am hoping that maybe someone can help me figure this out. I know these mirrors have been mounted on JKs before, and that is what is driving me cray. Hopefully I am not (or maybe am) overlooking something simple......I just wanna drive around with my soft doors! Thanks for any help anyone can provide for this conundrum.

Thanks for any help!!!
