Classic Bumper for JK

Does anyone know if the classic bumper that is for the LJ/TJ will fit on the JK's? If not does anyone know if anyone makes them for it. I am having a heck of a time finding anything that looks like it. It does not have to have winch mounts, maybe a D-Ring bracket or two but I am looking somewhat classic for my new Willy.

You might check out Pavement Ends (Bestop) and Olympic.
They both make a simple old school style bumper. They're reasonable too.

Not too many companies make old style bumpers for the JK. Just like 17 inch wheels, for some reason everyone decided that bolting a stealth fighter to the front of your JK was required. Nothing wrong with that but nothing wrong with old school either. But the result is only handful of companies make them. You might look at Warn and Smittybilt too. I've seen some like you're talking about

Thanks guys, thats exactly what I was looking for. I have not problem with having a stealth bomber but its the new Willy, so I feel like I should pay a little respect to the classics.

Make your own, it's really easy.

I used 4'6" of 1/4" C channel I got from a local steel place. It cost about 40 or 50 bucks. I drilled holes in it and mounted it to the frame horns with the factory tow hooks. I had plans to buy bolt on D ring mounts but never got around to it. It didn't look that good until I added a Harbor Freight winch plate to it. Total cost of this bumper was under $100 and it fits my Jeep's looks well. It's not for everyone but neither are those huge "stealth fighter" looking bumpers either.

Hey All,

I'm right there with you - traditional is for me too - Darth Vader is not my father - at least I don't think so.

I was looking at some of rugged ridge with the compartment ends kinda cool. I might consider a tube job though - but nor excessive - no kangaroos in North America.

No Kangaroo but there are deer. Also, I forgot to mention but my bumper posted above took a direct hit from an F150 that backed into me not long after I mounted it. It destroyed the F150 bumper and pushed it up into the tail gate. My bumper had a small scratch on it that I touched up when I got home. No damage.

This is a sad state of affairs that no one offers a simple bumper for the JK....Just one more thing that I will have to make myself.

Yep, the white rims remind me of the old CJ rims from when I was a kid. Very nice.
