clear bra jeep

anyone considered doing this to your jeep? I had clear bra on a previous car and it held up great with rock chips due to my vehicles lowered stance. I never considered it on my jeep because it sits pretty high...then was introduced to offroading....

Jeep Clear Bra MN 3M Ventureshield paint protection film to protect paint on hoods, fenders, mirrors, bumpers, and headlights from rock chips and stone damage

Naw. Just let it go. The grill and fenders are plastic, so rust isn't a concern. Enjoy your Jeep. Nothing is forever....

Just my philosophy now. When I was young, I was hysterical about chips and scratches which could lead to.... RUST... Oh No!

I like your thinking!

I don't mind scratches as long as I am the one doing causing them!

Plus, you can always bedline the grille in the future

I drive a lot on gravel/dirt roads. You should see the leading edge of my painted rear fenders. I imagine I'll be bedlining them in the future... No biggy - THEY WON'T RUST!

My white rear fenders are taking a beating. Since they have chips not sure the film will look good over the chips so film may be a better option. Questioning if the film will turn yellow. 1 year protection seems short.

We have a 3M clear bra on our Infinity hood and lower (low, low) air dam. 4 years and no yellowing. I've hit curbs that have mangled the clear bra but not the paint. (Why I drive a Jeep) Quality is critical- ours was installed by a pro using the good stuff- not the base level.
You'll get flamed here soon for even the thought- someone will tell you its anti-Jeep. But I'd argue the opposite- BECAUSE you're taking it off road its the perfect vehicle for it. However replacement grills and hoods are cheap on Craigslist if you look- what I'd protect if I did it. So I passed on my Jeep.
I do have to say I am really disappointed in my Jeep paint. I have more chips on my 2012 Jeep than I currently have on my '98 Ranger. Sneeze too close and the paint chips. My TJ paint was better. I think they must've skipped coats of paint on Sports or something.

I'm having a clear bra put on my 2014 Sport tomorrow. $125 for the 3M on just the hood. No need to do it on any of the plastic parts imo. I've had this on my last 5 new cars. Never yellows. Never had a paint chip show. You can't even see it. Wax and wash right over it. But.....don't do it yourself because you will get lots of bubbles you can't get out. Let a pro do it for you.

I did Suntek clear bra on the Willys yesterday. Covered the grill, fogs, and center bumper. The pre-cut pieces were for a partial hood, which left a line in the middle which I did not want. My installer did a custom cut along the crease for the exposed painted segment above the grill. I left the headlights uncovered bc I want them to break so I can replace them with LEDs or HIDs.

Its my wife's Jeep, so it wont be offroad, and the road debris in NJ is crazy after this winter. I have XPel on my car, and Im not sure Ill ever own another vehicle without bra.

I have Xpel on the leading side of my rear fenders (painted). Can't tell it's on there and definitely helps with the rock blasts. The rest of the Jeep I'm not worried about really since I rarely see offroad.

Ive got 2 cans of clear and 2 more of gloss plastidip.. Planning on removing the grill to spray and taping couple inches of the front hood and fenders. Seen pretty good results for $40...
