Clips to hold rear window rod not secure, soft top, 2007 Sahara

Hello everyone. I've read through all the posts I could find about this. I'm having a hard time getting the two clips that secure the bottom of the soft top to stay on (where the bar goes just above the tailgate).
I did see in one reply on a previous post that someone mentioned there was a design flaw in the 2007. Is this true??
I've tried snapping the clips in place and also sliding them into place from the edges of the tailgate, even bought new clips thinking the old ones were a little stretched out. Still can't get it.
It seems that the metal on the tailgate is too rounded (on the inside) and doesn't really 'grab' the clip. I can get it on, but it doesn't seem to stay for long.
Anyone having this problem or any tips??
Thanks

Got a photo? I think they should just snap on.

Thanks, Iowa. Rainy today and tmrw here. I will get a pic up soon. No, they don't seem to 'snap' into place. The metal lip on the frame of the Jeep seems too rounded for the clip to catch on and I've tried two different sets of clips.

There is no design flaw. They slide on and you need to slide them from the outside in. There is an end cap that the window bar seats against. If you try to clip them on they are not installed correctly. If you look at the top of the tub you can see the grooves that the brackets slide into. I have the original set on my '07 and they hold down just fine.

Thanks Bob. I was able to get them secure, and hopefully they stay. I don't seem to see the 'grooves' you mentioned, but I got them on. I appreciate the input, guys
