Clock loses time!

This may have been discussed before but this is my first post and I didn't see it. Every month or so the clock in my 2011 is about 2-3 minutes slow. Nothing that'll kill me but rather annoying. The dealership said they had an update coming but not available yet. Any thoughts?

set the clock 2-3 minutes fast, then at the end of the month you'll be on time.

My wife has noticed this in her new Liberty as well. Quite annoying to have to change the time every couple weeks.

Ours is off in both. I've learned to just never trust it. I use my phone instead. But yes it's kind of annoying.

My 2007 was slow, as is the 2010 and I'm expecting the same on my 2013.

I've seen a couple of these threads...the clock in my Jeep has the same time as my phone. Always. Don't have to re-set it for the time change, either.

My son's is the same way, he's got the 130 radio, it loses about 3 minutes a month. Based on my experience, the 730N keeps accurate time due to the satellite updates.

It's a wash, I advised him against the 730N radio based on my experience, he's got a Garmin and it keeps accurate time and the Garmin navigation system is hands down better than the in vehicle system--not that he's going to be driving his Jeep all that much this year, theoretically, since it's back at "Canoe U" now.

Mine have both been the 130. I have the 730 coming in the 13 so that will be nice not to have to reset

I've honestly considered changing out the head unit for the sole purpose of eliminating the time-losing clock...
but having to buy $150 in harness adapters to install a $200 radio just doesn't strike me as worthwhile.

You can bring it up and they acknowledge it but they don't have any kind of update. It really bothers me more than it should but I feel they should take responsibility. If may payment was just a little off every month there'd be consequences.

Clock Loses Time

I have a 2009 and from day 1 clock has lost 4-5 minutes a week. My lifetime warranty has not proven to be of value as dealership, STAR and regional parts rep have told me it's an inherent flaw in the control module. No fix is expected or probably not worth there time to further investigate. Would agree issue is minor, but annoying as heck! Especially with a lifetime warranty.

I know it's a flaw, since digital technology should be close to perfect, but I'm reminded of something a fellow timepiece aficionado said to me as I lamented the loss of time on my Rolex Sea-Dweller (which lost about the same time as my Jeep): "If time is that tight, it's time to re-evaluate." I tend to agree, especially as the Jeep has forced me to relax and enjoy the ride.

I came here via search to see if anyone else had this issue. Glad to now that I am not alone with this issue.

I just noticed it earlier today that it was off about 5 minutes. Thought I was actually going to be on time for once. :-P

I had them work on it again last week before I went on my trip, so it's been over a week now. So far it is stay on time. But, I'm expecting it to start falling behind at some point. They replaced the module again for it.

Mine does it, too. I just keep tabs on my Tag Heuer, I know that one's accurate.
