Clockspring issue

We just received an extended warranty notice on the clockspring which is in the airbag system. Jeep has extended the warranty from 3yrs 36,000 miles to 15 yrs unlimited miles. Supposedly this effects 2011-2016 Jeep Wrangler vehicles.
Supposedly the air bag light will illuminate. I asked the representative what is the worst thing that could happen, and she danced around the question and would not tell me what could happen. She was reading a prepared statement. I asked at least ten times what is the worst thing that could happen when this Clockspring malfunction occurs, and she would not answer the question.
So far, our airbag light has not come on.

So if you're the paranoid type, do you go tell your dealer that your airbag light came on for a short period of time, hoping they will go ahead and replace your clockspring?

I have heard that the airbag might deploy unexpectedly.
