Cloth seats...heated

I love my 2013 Sahara! But..... I had read that u could get heated cloth seats. I requested them but was told by the salesman that jeep wranglers did not have heated cloth, just leather. I've had the vehicle for two weeks and am keeping it. The seats are beautiful. Can I add the heat thingies to the seats that I have as an after market? Should I tell the salesman they r available?

I just added them to my '08 Rubicon. I was installing Katzkins. So it just made sense to add them. Not a big deal at all.

You can configure a jeep online with heated cloth seats. You should mention it to your salesman, you might be able to wing a discount on the MOPAR kit because the dealer misinformed you.

Google "Wrangler heated seats" or check with Quadratrac. Cost should be $300ish for the parts. Any accessory shop will be able to do it. Katzkins is a manfacturer of aftermarket leather kits.

That is what gives "some" dealers bad names....

Heated cloth seats are indeed an option on Sahara's. You can have the Mopar kit installed, but the buttons are in a different location.

This could be great news! Or not.. Depends on what happens. I think I will call my salesman tomorrow and tell him. Dang, I hate controversy. Wish he had known in the beginning....

The factory-installed heated cloth seats in our 2013 Sahara work quite well.

I have cloth heated seats on my JKUR. I had to order from the factory to get them. No dealer had them on the lot. They are great when you are diving through a desert canyon in the winter with the top off. At least one side of you is warm.

Agreed, but then again, it is one guy representing the dealership and a lot of the time, they only know some of the features for several brands. But still, that information should be looked up if the customer wants it.

I picked up 2013 Sahara with heated cloth seats of the lot last weekend. And I have to say - I really like them. It's been chilly in Chicago an seats are toasty. The sales man was "misinformed" because the option is out there.

I have them on my 13 Rubi- they work well. When I was negotiating, the dealer had been using the wrong VIN/window sticker. Once the Jeep was delivered from another dealer, it had all the features on the negotiated deal plus heated seats.

Not sure if they were "free" or just buried somewhere else in the cost.

I believe I read somewhere that the '13 Saharas have the heating mechanism under the seats no matter what. They are just not connected and you can't use the original switch location when adding switches. I could be wrong, but I need to find out for sure as I have a '13 Sahara JKU with cloth as well.

Does anyone know for sure where the heater element is in the rubicon and sahara factory heated seats? Is it in/on the foam or on the ulpholstery? Depending on the cost, I might be willing to go this route.
The last I knew (Feb.), there was no mopar kit for the 13. Check corp does not havea solution for the passenger seat base due to the occupancy sensor. As such, they can do driver base and back and passenger back, not base.

Ditto with my 2013 JKR...and it was one of my absolute "must haves" after using them in my wife's and daughter's vehicles for years. I did not want leather since I like the way cloth stands up without maintenance. My TJ's cloth seats looked showroom new when I sold it after 11 years.

I also thought that I would need to custom order, but found one with this option and all of my other "must haves" (e.g., 4.10 axle) 70 miles away...so I made the drive.

That salesman was blowing smoke....or maybe inhaling it.

I called the salesman and told him they were available...again he said no..after a few moments of discussing it, he said he would call me back. He did.. I,get to keep the seats that are in them. They install the heat thingies into the seats I have. It will cost 395.00. They will install them April 5th, when they put on my black scratch resistance fenders!!! I will then sale my other fenders...I'm tickled! He apologized also.. So it's all good.

Connie,
Can you keep us posted on how this turns out and what parts are installed?
I knew I would not get full use out of the rubicon, so I opted for the sport w/ no option for heated seats, but I would like to add the heated seats into my jeep. Maybe what is done to your jeep can be done to mine and others.
Thanks,
M.

I have the dealer retro-fit heaters on my 2012 JKUS.

Two thumbs up - they work quite well. I had them installed by the dealer at the same time they were adding the remote start.

Expensive, but worth it

(I went dealer as they are electrical items - a little paranoid there...)

I bought a 13 JKU Sahara off the lot that didn't have heated seats. They were a priority for me, so the dealer installed the Mopar set as part of the purchase, so I'm not sure how much they would have cost (I think he said ~$500 installed). As others have said though, the passenger seat on the 13's is not heated, just the back. I'd only used the passenger side a few times, but I honestly didn't notice until I read it on here. It still warms up nicely, and the high setting on either seat is way too hot, except for the first few minutes in really cold weather. It's an option I wouldn't live without!

If only the back on yours is getting warm you need to have the dealer look at it. On our 2013 Sahara, both the seat portion and backrest on the passenger seat heats up.

I would go back and argue with the jeep dealer because they do have the cloth heated seats. i have them in my 2012 Sahara and love the things. they came factory with the jeep and if he lied to you then i would go complain to the dealer and see if they will put them in for free...
worth a shot.....

HELL NO!

Go to the Jeep website right now, "rebuild" your Sahara...add heated seats as an option. The price is $250 MSRP....so roughly $223 invoice. If they would have been included in your original purchase, they would not have cost $395.00. Also, when they are installed from the factory, they are connected to the bank of buttons on the dash. That isn't the case when the Mopar ones are installed at the dealer.
