Clutch noise

New to the jeep wrangler. I just purchased a new 2012 rubicon unlimited with a manual transmission. Had a question regarding a creaking door noise I am hearing when depressing and releasing the clutch with torque on the motor. The noise is not present when using the clutch at idle rpm's. Contacted the dealer who told me the noise is completely normal for jeeps. I have owned manual transmissions since I was 16 and only heard noises from the cough when things were going bad. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 10 Rubi with a 6spd and there is no noise. I think some dealers like to say certain things are normal when they're not. I'm sure someone with a 12 manual trans. will update also. Welcome and good luck with your new Rubi.

I'd have a mechanic I trust listen to it, just to be sure the dealer isn't telling you a BS story. Its really hard to tell w/o hearing it. My experience has been when clutches make noise it is usually a TOB or a Pilot bearing and that's not good.

I have it too with my 07. Not normal but common from what I see. Look through my threads and read the one that mentioned TSB's. You will see my experience with the same issue.

Edit: here saved ya time

Thanks for all the responses...kjeeper10 I'll pull the service bulletins and bring them with me when I go to the mechanic. Hopefully my next posts will be more cheerful since my wife and I love driving our new jeep around the roads in durango

Ya, I just read through the thread, its been a bit.. It is more "noisy" now then before.
It's always quiet first thing in the morning then once some pressure builds and everything heats up it get worse. "creaky" just like your describing.
I really should get it in. Dealer at the time said they could not duplicate the problem (of coarse not) haha. "drive it some more and let us know if it gets worse" (nice)
I was frustrated and spent 2 days on the Internet. From what I gathered the clutch in our jeeps is not all that great. Some had it fixed and the problem came back
Looks like I learned to live with it with intentions of going aftermarket at some point.
2 post caught my eye when the person after going aftermarket reported better performance. Please keep me informed, shocked to see the same issue on a brand
new 2012 sucks.
