COD MW3 hid winch in bumper

I searched a little and couldn't find anything on this. This is my question. Have you seen someone hide a winch in the wrangler bumper? It will be so sweet if the winch can be tucked into the bumper and close it off with the winch delete plate.

I have the COD MW3 bumper. Is it not exactly winch ready. To install any winch, it will require $270 winch plate kit!

This is what I am thinking. If I have to spend $270 for winch plate, I might as well look into how to hid the winch in the bumper.

It's been done. Don't have a link handy at the moment.

I thought the COD MW3 came with a winch-ready bumper? Here is the standard bumper winch DIY.

Nope. It requires a winch plate kit.

Yes, but the bumper already has the front cutout so you don't have to do the standard JK bumper mod of cutting a hole in the front of the bumper, correct?

Correct. However, the sway bar and vacuum could be in the way depending on winch. Now i need to figure which winch plate to use.

Thanks for sending those pictures. Can you share which winch plate you used? Was it the AEV's $270 kit?

Yeah, sadly that's apparently the only option. You've got to specify that you have the COD edition in order to get the right kit. A little bit of a bummer since they claimed it was "winch ready" but at least you can walk away knowing you did it right.

And one other thing to keep in mind if you're going to "hide" it like I did - when you do that, you will be covering up the clutch lever. Luckily (?) I've got smaller hands than anyone I know so on the rare occasion I would need the clutch I can reach behind that plate and still turn it, but just barely. So just be sure to account for that when doing your cutting. And good luck!

Oh, and I also recommend adding the wireless controller while your at it. But that might just be me.
