Condensation inside headlamp

I drive a '09 JK Unlimited 4 dr. Today I've found that the inside of the left hand headlamp has condensation inside the glass. The Jeep hasn't been in deep water although it has been snowy and wet for some time round here.

Any suggestions as to how the water may have got in and what I need to do to sort it out?

Is this something that would be covered under my warranty or is it just a feature of Jeeps !

Johnny

Condensation can get in between the gasket on the Halogen lamp and the headlight. The seal is only as good as the manufacturing process. Probably happened due to the extreme wet condition that you described. Check the headlight to make sure there are no cracks. If there is it won't be covered under warranty. I would wait to see if it dries out and happens again. If it persists the dealer should replace the Halogen lamp under warranty unless there is some type of problem that would be considered a road hazard. The headlight should stay dry.

Thanks for that KIK.

Dealer replaced it today under warranty ! Wouldn't want to try and change a bulb out on the road - guess you've got to take the grille off, otherwise you'd need fingers like Gollum - and the patience of a Saint !
