Conquered the passenger side spark plug

It's a bugger to get to. I used a swivel socket that has a small extension, then another swivel joint and a longer extension. What makes it tougher is that they angle back. The driver's side in comparsion angles forward.

I decided to save the 3 passenger side wires for another day since it didn't look like much fun routing them behind the engine.

The question--how did they look?

Been debating changing mine at 40,000

Everyone tells me "why--there good for 100k"

Always replaced my plugs every. 30k

am I the only person who doesn't have all that hard of a time with the rear passenger spark plug? it was somewhat difficult, yes, but impossible? no. I just reached back there and got after it, didn't go through the wheel well or anything.

They looked fine. I checked the gaps as well and all were extremely close, maybe a tiny bit loose, but very close. All of them looked like they were burning clean. The one closest to the driver side firewall seemed a little oily on the threads, but no sign of oil on the electrode.

They definitely could have stayed in longer, but I would certainly be concerned about getting them out at 100k. The thing is, if you are going to check them, you might as well replace them. It was definitely tough getting the boots off with no leverage to work with and having them angled toward the firewall. I wouldn't want to try getting them off later. They definitely should be coated with dielectric grease.

There is very little leverage to get that one plug out and it was a battle. I had one foot on a small step ladder and one on the front bumper in order to attack it from above.

I didn't go through the wheel well either, but I would consider it easy. I would say it was easier than my old Malibu with the 3.3.

I would be very concerned about that. I think they would perform that long, but not being coated with anti-seize and not having the boots coated would make them difficult to remove at that point IMO.

Sounds like a job for my local mechanic

Actually- I made a call on Sat and they said "why? they are good for 100k"

That's is my point--I want them to be anti seized. and since they are going to be out-- I want them replaced with new. Can not hurt
