By body armor I think he means the company that makes half doors

Looked and looked. Went with Body Armor. Very happy. No rattles also prefer the look of the inside latch over the outside latch on most.

I kept going back and forth between Rugged Ridge, Body Armor, and Rancho. Then I was at Bantam and found a set of Body Armor doors in the scratch and dent section at a price I couldn't refuse, so now they are in my garage waiting until I'm done recoding from gallbladder surgery and can lift more than 10 pounds again.

I sent an email to Spiderwebshades.com about making SWS for Bestop Element doors like they have made for Rancho tube doors. Below is the reply.

Hey Robin,

We are working on different designs. We will keep you posted.

Thanks

AHHHHHHHHHHH BODY ARMOR!

I thought you ment that you only had so much money, and you were between actual body armor (tub armor) or trail doors.

whooops! I stand by my statements, trail doors over tub armor.

(i didn't know the "body armor" brand existed)

I'll be the Guinea pig. Bestop doors with spiderweb shade skins. Looking at the doors, I figured the bottoms and sides had to be the same to fit the jeep door frame. The area I was worried about was around the mirror and lock. I fortunately had 4 of the longer spider balls I had to use around the mirrors. Two on each door. Still have to do some adjusting. But I'm happy with the looks. These come in colors. An option and a picture for anyone considering these with Bestop doors.

What sorts of issues? I'm looking to get a set of tube doors as well and like these. Thanks!

FWIW you can add limiting straps on the rancho doors, I used the warrior kit (20.00) and you just have to drill couple holes on the rancho door. Same size drill as the rubber bumper screw..

Where are you guys getting the Spiderweb doors/shades? I've looked on both sites, Spiderwebs and Ranchos and don't see the combo. Am I just missing it??

Just give them a call or look on Spiderwebshade's Facebook page. They just put some pictures of my 10A on it.

Are you still happy with these doors? I'm looking to buy and I'm fond of this design.

I am very happy with my Rancho doors and Spiderweb skins. Without the skins, airflow through the cab tore out everything that wasn't strapped down.

Get a ton of compliments on the combo. We do have one door that rattles a bit...even put it on two different JK Unlimited. I figure it is part of the Jeep life.

While these are no longer available, I still think the design and quality are my favorite.
Can't wait to put them on every summer!

I'm glad to hear that. I had it in my mind that at higher speeds the webbing flapped some. Any regrets or cons about the purchase?

I'm torn...
  • Rancho Rock Gear Doors http://www.gorancho.com/products/roc...t-rs6216b.html
    • Pro: I really like the look and Spiderwebshade add-on
    • Con: Most expensive by far. No door swing limiting straps
  • Bestop Element Doors http://www.bestop.com/component/prod...category&id=14
    • Pro: Nice extensibility; you can add Storage Bags, the Enclosure Kit to make it a solid half door, and the Upper Doors to make it a full door. That flexibility seems powerful
    • Con: They look really cheap and poorly designed. People complain of rattling
  • Smittybilt SRC Tubular Doors http://www.smittybilt.com/product/index/56.htm
    • Pro: Nice clean look with no exterior handle. Inexpensive
    • Con: No add-on's. For some reason they don't seem very popular. Almost a 1/4 door in my opinion, and take away some of that open experience

I really like the look of the Body Armor web doors. To me, the webbing just looks so cool. Most retailers sell them for around $350 per set, but I've seen them for around $270 on Amazon. One of the great thing about Jeeps is how customizable and unique they can be!

Anyone else have experience with these doors???

I'm not a fan of the Body Armor doors, they are just cosmetic in my opinion. Yes, they look darn sexy!! But they offer little tube protection and I have concerns of the mesh flapping being really annoying at highway speeds. (can someone comment on that concern??)

The webbing does not flap. They make no noise. I've had them for over two years they are on full time from spring through fall. I've made 16 hour round trips with them on. So I'll say it again. NO FLAPPING, NO NOISE.

There are worse things than dying like not living. I have had cancer three times since 2008 been through thousands of hours of chemo and radiation I can only hope I die in my jeep. Go have fun and stop worrying about the fu* king little things in life.

Spot on! Your comments mirror my own personal experiences with these doors. If your worried about noise in a Jeep your in the wrong vehicle.
I've only done the cancer thing 1x, it was to hell and back so congrats on still being here after 3 times, remaining cancer free, driving a Jeep, and a great attitude.
