Was dead set on the Cooper STT Pros for a while until I came across the DC Extreme Country today. Going to be doing mainly highway driving, looking at 35s. Any recommendations? I like the fact that the DCs are cheaper.

I was dead set on the STT Pros, too... but then Rod (Pressurized) mentioned the DCs to me. My 34's are 59lbs, were cheaper, and have been great (on road and off).

They're also a Cooper brand.

Can't go wrong with either. The DC is Coopers latest design and has an E rating with a 2 ply sidewall. This gives it a distinct weight advantage over the 3 ply tires... I haven't been on them, but I also expect them to ride better than the STT Pro.

At least until the new Cooper M/T-P shows up. :)

I was considering getting a separate set of tires in the 35/1250r15 DC Extreme Country (on sale at 4wd.com). They're a C2 load rating. And getting 15" chrome rims but just don't want the 3.75" backspacing. I found a couple in 4" and 4.25". Not much choice in 4.5" or higher. Grinding the calipers wouldn't be an issue, I just don't want my tires to stick way out and local inspection laws would be a problem.
