Correct Bestop bikini top for 2013 hard top .

Placed an order for the Bestop # 52580 Header Bikini Top, Black (07-09 Wrangler JK 2 Door) as it was listed for 07-13 on the venders site. They didnt have any listed for 10-13 now after looking at Bestops site I found they do have another part number 52586 for the 10-13. So will the 52850 work with my 13 hard top model and full doors or do I need the 52586 ?

# 52586

This Bikini top attaches to the sports bar - it does not require or attach to door surrounds.
Requires installation of windshield channel #51243, available separately

# 52580
The Bestop Header Bikini attaches to your windshield with a special channel that requires no drilling.
Requires installation of windshield channel #51243, available separately.

If you're running a hardtop on your Jeep right now, you'll need to get a Header Channel to use the bikini top. The header channel will allow the bikini top to attach to your Jeep's windshield frame. As for the tops themselves, the reason they have different versions for the 2009 and down, and 2010 and up is the factory door surrounds are different.

I have seen people run the 07-09 version on a 2010+ Jeep and it worked, but it fit really poorly. I would recommend returning it and getting the 52586.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions. I'll be glad to help.

get the one for 10-13's. I put on the bikini for 07-09 and I have a 2010. It sucked! It didn't fit right on top and I got drenched every time it rained. Just recently sold it cause I thought there wouldn't be a big dif in the tops but apparently there is.
you can see where the top doesn't fit to the door surrounds

Remo,

I actually used your classified post on JKFreaks to see how it fit on the 10+. So, thank you for posting those pictures up!

You're welcome, I was a little upset it didn't fit good. I like the way the top looks

Yea the bikini/windjammer/duster combo looks great. Are you planning on getting another combo to run?

Remo,

Yea, that's one down side to the combo. You do loose a good bit of storage, which lets face it, Jeeps don't start with a lot of that. Then you loose use of your back seat which can also be kind of a pain.

someone help me get this right. I have two choices for my 2015 unlimited with factory hardtop, no soft top pieces

52594 comes assembled with header, cable style, Safari Bikini, Wrangler JK Unlimited 2010-2015 (Cable Style)

52584 need to buy windshield header, headstyle, Header Safari Bikini for Wrangler JK Unlimited, 2010-15

Do i need to buy their unlimited door surrounds (Door Surround Kit, Wrangler Unlimited, 10-15
Part Number: 55011) to use with either of these since mine came with a hardtop? They dont mention too much on if both kits need them. Can anyone one comment on which is better, the cable version or the header version? Seems the cabl eis nice thats its assembled with header already and i would just need to buy surrounds if thats whats needed.

Clarified with Bestop. Cable model needs door surrounds but comes with header. The other doesn't need door surrounds but needs header. I'm just wondering which is better in terms of wind and quality of it mounted to the jeep and best rain protection.

Best rain protection= the bikini that uses door surrounds. The cable bikini will seal the tightest to the door surrounds similar to the factory top. It will protect from rain the best.

Keep in mind the cable bikini is $200 +you need $200 in door surrounds for it if you have a hardtop. At this point you are better off spending a little more and getting a Trektop NX.

yeah i was looking at a trektop NX, then that spun into looking at the $1300 twill model, then i start looking at bikinis, then after you add the extra windjammer and duster you are into the soft top prices. Is the twill really worth the extra 600 or so? i have seen some trektop NX's fit loose and saggy and look faded and some look nice and dark black and taught, just wondering if that's the difference. I may be better off just getting one of the emergency rain covers and wait out the rain.

I've never seen a properly installed trektop look "loose". I've seen where some people remove the hard plastic inserts from the windows to make it easier to put on (because they don't know the correct way to do it) and it looks looser than normal. I've never owned the twill tops. Lot's of people swear by them, but I've never seen a reason to upgrade from the standard Black Diamond material.

i cant find any comparison pictures online. I just dont want it grey or faded looking. Have you had one on for years and still looks great? Dark black in appearance. I think i will only be running it for summers and then hard for winter, but i live in orlando so i could run all year.

We only live a couple of hours away. Unless you have another reason besides "winter", I think you will find a soft top is more than adequate for year round use in Florida. I would sell the hard top, buy a Trektop and pocket the rest of the cash in a heartbeat.

I"ve had my Trektop since last october, so about 6 months now. It's a deep black color but the twill is still darker. I don't have any pictures but I compared it to my factory soft top windows which are about 8 years old now. They are only a shade or two lighter.

This pic shows about how dark the Trektop looks. It matches the bumpers and fenders well. The twill is like a black BMW convertible top material. It's possible you have seen a Jeep with the Khaki top. On older Jeeps it was a tan color but on JK's, khaki looks like faded black (to me).

yeah i just ordered it, took off a ton of money using amex points on amazon and have prime so it will be here friday so i can install on saturday. They also have $50 mail in rebate right now too. I think i will leave my hard top hoisted up in the garage. Can always put back on if i do a road trip to Michigan to see family during winter.

Good plan. You'll be happy with it. When you install it, leave it all zipped up for a week or so, don't open the sunrider. It needs to relax and conform to your Jeep. I can have my windows off in less than 2 minutes and back on in 3.
