Every time my 2015 is washed or rained on, I get a "run" from the passenger side mirror past both hinges that leaves a whitish "calcified", streak down the door that's difficult to remove. I'm assuming it's aluminum/steel corrosion forming behind the door hinges? Has anyone else experienced this?
I just had my 2013 hinges repainted under warranty as there was corrosion bubbling underneath, very common problem. The body shop even told me it would happen again.
Noticed that too. Only on the passenger side. I have an early build with no gasket, I wonder if the dealer would install and if they did would it tear up the paint and just turn out worst.
The mirrors collect water and it slowly leaks out where the mirror attaches to the door. The white stain is most likely hard water stains. There are several post regarding this and an easy to do mod to drill a small hole to let the water out faster.
Wheel out my air compressor with blow gun attachment and give my cars the once over before toweling off. Attention paid to nooks, crannies, mirror nacelles, and door jambs (doors closed) and problem is non existent.
