Cost for Window Tint

I'm shopping around for tint in San Antonio and got a price today for my JKU with hardtop at $279. That seems pretty high to me. The tint is high end 3M but I don't think that can be right. What did you pay out there? I was expecting around $200.

Dam that's high. Don't know what to tell you man. I didn't pay a cent to get my tinted. I did it my self all it took was a couple hours.

I paid 120 to get the only the front two done, tinting is pretty expensive. 279 for the whole thing is probabaly as good as you're going to find a shop to do it. As DeathRider said though, if you do it yourself it'll be like 50 bucks and they make those pre-cut, vehicle specific pieces now that are fairly simple to install.

Average cost at a good tiny place is $40-$50 per side window and $75-100 for the rear glass on a hardtop. I just had my two sides done on my 2dr to match my tinted soft top. $80 plus tax

Window tint has had to evolve with the times, new materials are being created and used, that are compatable with Nav systems and TPMS. Older tint materials had titanium and various metallic compounds which they found would make Nav systems and TPMS do funny things. The labor has stayed the same, the tint itself has gone up. The last car I had done was a 2011 Hyundai Touring wagon, 7 windows, and a windshield strip set me back $225.

Matched the back with 20% on the front windows, did entire windshield with 35%---------------$110. Windows on the side look like factory tint, no gap.

Got a quote in Longmont, CO for $150 for 5 windows on a 2-dr Sport.

I did not get it because I ended up getting a JKU that came with tinted windows.

You go to Daddy's? I've had 3 vehicles tinted there and its expensive, but they do the best work. You can probably get your windows done at Mother's for $100-$150.

I had all the 6 windows on my JKU for $80.00. It turned very nice but the back doors are kinda dark. It keeps it cooler when I have my doors on. They don't work very well when the doors are in the spare room though.

Got all 6 windows done in my 2dr for 60bux! But tinting is cheap around here.

Anyone paying more than 200 for tint is getting hosed.

That is around what I paid for the 5 windows on my Rubi to be done. Metallic tint, work and tint guaranteed. I took it to a place in town with a great reputation and I had seen the work they had done on 3 different vehicles that friends own. I have not regretted it for 1 minute. The same shop did the fronts on my wife's Sahara (for a lot less) and matched the factory deep tint rears really well. She is very happy with the work and how they have held up as am I.

Coming out of FL and back in NM, I have seen cheap or affordable jobs done that just don't last. Bubbles, blisters, cut lines, how it lines up and general quality of the film itself.

As with most of my vehicles, I consider them a relatively large $$$$ investment and want to have any work done, done right whether it is me doing it or someone else.

If you're getting all windows that's a good price (for daddys) they tinted my front two windows on my Ram for $250

It all depends on the type of tint you get. Almost all the cheaper tints will turn purple in a few years depending on what state you live in and how much the car is in the sun. Go with 3M Color Stable tint. It is none metallic so it doesn't interfere with GPS or cell phone signals. It is very pricey but it has a lifetime warranty against fading or color change.

My hardtop came tinted but not the front side windows. Those were $125. These guys I use are a bit more than the others, but I prefer them. The windshield was $125 with 3M Crystalline. I always tint my windshields with 70% Crystalline...the heat reduction is significant without cutting down visibility at night.

I am not sure about prices but I paid $75 at Mr. Tint. That was for my 2 front doors and 6" strip on the windshield.

I paid $250 here in Florida to do the 2 sides and the front with the high-end Llumar film. Sides were $90 and the windshield $160 for the clear high-end blocker. Well worth the cost in Florida. I think the two sides with cheap film would have been $50. JK here, not JKU. Then, had to spend more to replace the zip out windows, but glad I did it.

You'll notice that most of the folks posting with cheaper prices aren't mentioning the quality of tint. That's a reasonable price for all windows and 3M.
