Thanks, so far I've emailed the dealer, a few upholstery shops etc. Only one has replied so far, there price was 300 which is good but the shop over a hour away.
That's a great choice of leather I saw that one too looks really good! I had heard it cost around $500 for most to install before maybe pricing has come down or the Jeep seats are easier to install. Let us know what's the best price you come up with and show us some pics when you are finished!
In 2015 we got a South Carolina Dealer to include custom Katzkins in for no charge on the wife's JKU sport. It pays to make the deal in the last day or two of the month. :happyyes:
$100 is an extremely good deal, but I can honestly say since I did my own install, I wouldn't do it for $100. I removed the front seats since it made them easier to work on and the install and removal of the existing covers, probably took me a good 6 hours over the course of 2 days working on it in the evenings.
I suppose if you do it regularly and have some experience, you could probably do it in half that time. The hardest part are with the headrest covers. So it might be worth asking the private installer some further details about doing the headrests, to see if they have the machine and/or experience. I took mine into an upholstery shop and had them do the headrest cover installs. I paid the shop like $75 to do all 4 headrests. The reason is that for the headrest cover, you really need a special machine that essentially wraps a plastic bag around the headrest with a vacuum attached, where the vacuum sucks the air out of the bag which then compresses the headrest cushion material so the cover can slide over it.
$500 seems to be the going rate for dealership installs when I looked into it in the past. $300 seems about right for a good upholstery shop.
I found some OEM backcountry seat covers on eBay for reasonable price. Leather with the sport mesh cloth where your butt and back touch the seat (too hot and sticky where I am for full leather). They are also the same seat cover that the winter edition comes with, similar to the 75th seats without the red stitching.
Awaiting install now as I can't find anyone who will go under $400 locally.
Digging your seat pattern though and looks great installed.
