Couple questions

On my previous Jeeps when I lifted them the kits came with wedges to place under the spring seat to compensate for the increased angle of the driveshaft.

It seems that on the coil spring systems now in use, driveshaft angle isnt addressed.

Why is that?

Is it an issue, but since it cant be easily corrected, its just ignored?

I want a 2.5 lift on my wifes Jeep but not at the expense of drivetrain longevity.

Why is there an electrical wire going into the doors? There isnt anything electrical in there, is there?

Im chomping at the bit to go shopping, but I need to do some more homework first. I think we want a 2.5 lift and 265-70-17s on the tires.

I found a set of new takeoffs that I offered $750 for, 255-70-18s.

Opinions on those oem wheels & tires?

Driveshaft angles are always an issue when you add a lift, including your "wedges."

The wire on the door is for the dome light, key-in-the-ignition chime, and the radio off when you open the door.

x2 on the door wire comment from daggo.

As far as the "wedges" I've seen a kit (don't remember the brand off hand) that came with them but I believe it was for 4+ inches of lift...

Ahhh, the dome light.

Im still getting used to the Wrangler now being a car/Jeep instead of a Jeep/Jeep.

I would keep looking around for take offs. I sold my 255/70/18 wheels with tires on craigslist for $450.

We just ordered a set of 17x8 wheels and 265-70-17 Kumho skins. They should be in in 2-3 days. I also ordered a set of oem molded side steps. Its what she wants.

Pics once they are on.

Im hopeing it all looks to cramped and we need a mild lift.
