Cover when top is off

Has anyone purchased something like this for their 4-dr? Really need something for those iffy days when the top is off. Just rather not order something without some input.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!

Bestop sells them, as does Pavement Ends. And I'm sure some others are out there.
We call them TrailCovers

I purchased the one you have pictured for my unlimited. It doesn't really fit very well. It seems to have been made to cover the jeep with the top up? It has a lot of extra fabric over the tub that fills with water when it rains. So much so that the cover is virtually laying in the tub and the weight of the water tends to pull it up on the sides. This would work if your roll bars come all the way to the back of your rig. When it arrived, I called and told them that they must have sent the wrong one. They sent me a replacement. It was exactly the same. I use it more for shade, but am still looking for one that actually fits.

^ that's my concern too. I've checked a couple out locally and they do seem to have issues. The one I looked at yesterday just barely got down to the edge of the truck in the trunk area, so any wind would just blow it in and the rain would follow.

Even though they don't look cool, I wonder if one that goes to the ground would be better.

Geoff, these aren't nylon either right? Aren't they the same material the softtops are made from?

Does anyone have any experience with this type cover. I'm leaning toward it as I think it would secure better then the first type I mentioned.

Not Geoff, but the bestop one I have for my TJ is flannel lined vinyl type stuff, works extremely well. I highly recommend the bestop version. The sides slip into the channel like the soft top does, helps hold it in place. It will fill with water between the windshield and roll bar, but we have a custom made bow to help with that. It is completely waterproof, (no soak through). Easy to install, and store. My only complaint is that it doesn't fit over the soft top.... (if the windows were out, but the top up)

I have a S*ittybuilt cab cover. Spend the extra for the Bestop, it's great to have and works well, but the cheap one is pulling apart at the seams after one season.

you probably could, but I never suggest buying anything at the stealership unless there are no alternatives.

Many times in ads it says to visit your local 4x4 store. Do they exist and if so where are they? Around here I've never seen one or maybe just don't know what I'm looking for

whitebomber- Go to the bestop website and click on where to buy, then find a local dealer. Since your signature says you're from upstate NY I did a search on New York on their site and there were a couple in upstate. Don't know if any are close to you but hope it helps.

I don't know about your area, but we have 3 here in this small town. We even have a street named Four-Wheel Drive where you can get anything you want in parts and service for your Jeep or other 4 wheeler.

Rain Gear Jeep Covers

Thats what I use. They haven't updated to the JK yet though. Sucks cause it's a great cover for when the doors are off.
