current best deal out there? wheels n tires

ok, so Tire Kingdom has a special 4 tires for the price of 2... looking at 33"x12.5"x15" BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO at $203 a tire... obviously u would have to install and balance the tires with them and pay that fee, probably around 60 bucks.. so it would be a total of about $500 including tax for 4 33" tires...

also looking at some 15" wheels for the JK I love the look of the Soft 8's and I can get some 15"x8" for around $57 a wheel at my local 4 wheel parts store, for a total of $305 after tax...

$804 for 5 wheels and 4 tires aint bad right??

I have a buddy that can lend me a spare tire for a bit since the budget is tight.. if not it would be $ 1025 for a entire set of 5

let me know what u guys think,,, offer ends soon

I think that sounds like a great deal! I would go do this except my tires still have some life in them...I think if I could I would get all 5 but if your budget is tight then 4 would work. Not a bad deal at all! I say go for it!

Most of the 15" steel wheels will not fit over your calipers. Soft 8's need to be modified by grinding to fit if you get them. Many of the 15" aluminium wheels will fit without any problem but cost a little more.

that sucks,, on the 4 wheel parts catalog they claim that the wheels fit... even with a 3.75" backspacing?

I'm not entirely sure about the 3.75" BS, I know that someone with a set of soft 8's in a 15x8 with 4" of backspacing had to grind down his brake calipers to make them fit. I bought a set of 5 MB72's from Discount Tire Direct at $99 each, but they are on back order so I won't see them until after the 19th.

I hate to burst your bubble but I just called them (been looking to get some 33s as well) but it doesn't apply to Goodrich tires, but if you can find something else you want as long as you order it by the 11th you should get the discount.

Keep in mind that if you buy wheels and tires DTD will mount, balance, and ship your wheels/tires for free. They will also price match to the shipped price of any non sale tire, you get a $50 discount for being a forum member as well, so although their tires may seem slightly more expensive to begin with when you account for all the other shipping/mounting expenses they are quite reasonable. They have lots of 15" wheel options that will fit that are in stock, I was just set on a very particular wheel.

The TK deal also requires you do the premium installation AND alignment. I don't want those fools touching my alignment at all. After all is said and done the price will probably be about the same as ordering them from DT or TR.

Thanks for the link, PM sent; I have had nothing but good dealings with Matt at DTD so hopefully I can save a little cash, if not I won't cry about it, just have to sell my old wheels/tires to deter some of the initial cost.

Question HELP! with tires and wheels, etc...

Hi there everybody~

I have been going crazy and doing a ton of research with different vendors, blogs, this forum etc... but i'm still confused with all the information.

ok, so i have an 07 Sahara, she's my baby and it's time for some mod's.
Recently i've purchased a few new items waiting to be installed.
For one- i'm totally replacing the oem headlights with new housing. I found this guy through a thread on this forum who is fantastic for lighting consulting. This man is a genius! Building me a custom ready- to -install harness. Cibie H4's/Narva 100/90w bulbs.

Check out: Danielsternlighting.com
He was super helpful to me- i'm all new at this stuff...

*looking for a stainless fuel door. ordered the rugged ridge, and returned. it looked cheap and didn't fit w/o drilling. Any suggestions? i know the Mopar Jeep fuel door cover is sweet but mad expensive....

Got some Rugged Ridge grille inserts (comes one piece)- havent installed that yet either but i'm thinking it's going to look pretty cool.

got an Alpine CDE-133BT CD receiver from Crutchfield so that i can be Bluetooth ready. I was really skeptical about messing with my stereo system. i think the oem system in the 07 sahara is amazing! but,the guy at Crutch told me that by just changing the face plate it won't change the sound quality. i really hope that is true! Anybody who has done this please give me some feedback. thanks!

Got a SportRack 3 bike spare tire rack (very excited about this)- not installed yet either..

So now- for the big ticket (or bigger) ticket items needed (wanted)

Wheels/tires. i need some guidance here. bigtime. i do not have a lift. my jeep is my DD. i don't do any off roading. although, sometimes on these back country roads it feels like i do! Mostly, watching out for deer... hence, the need for the lighting upgrade.

looking for more aggressive look w/o affecting my ride. my jeep came with 255 70/18.'s
i was told from the guys at Discount Tires the largest i can go w/o a lift is 285 70/17. I was thinking i'd go to 17's b/c tires are cheaper and better look w more sidewall. What do you guys think? i hear everyone talking about 33's- not really even sure what that means (but i know what they look like and i like it) think i'd need a lift for those tho and since i don't do any off roading might not be the right thing.

I am currently thinking- MB TKO's with 285 70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. Anyone have this set up? if so, please post a pic! Even if you have a diff wheel with this tire and no lift, so i can get an idea. Do you think this set up will change the look enough for me to spend that cash?

Another question- I've never considered a lift before...b/c i cant spend the money on it. but, now since i'm considering a wheel/tire upgrade i have some interest.. are there any very affordable slight lifts out there that will not affect the quality of my ride? Or will that be just a waste of money better spent elsewhere?

Thanks for any help!

Tara

Welcome to the forum, don't forget to wave .
Here are my current 295/70R17 Nitto Terra Grapples

If you're going to buy new wheels and tires for a cheaper tire and more sidewall I would consider a 15" or 16" wheel which will be even less expensive than any 17" option. When people are talking about 33's they are refering to float sizes of tires instead of the metric denotiation of 295/70R17 or whatever size. The Terra Grappler is a very heavy tire, I haven't had a bad experience with them but I am switching to a 15" tire with 33x12.5 Goodyear Duratracs as they are lighter, cheaper, more aggressive looking and still a good street tire (so everyone says).

Thanks Eaglektd! Your lifted, right? What lift kit did you go with...was trying to avoid a lift. But, now thinking i want a more aggressive look. So maybe a 15 or 16 wheel with a 33! yay!

Currently I have a 2" budget boost which was on there when I got it, but am going to be going to a 3" Full-Traction set up after I save up enough after paying off my fiance's wedding rings, she's just as expensive as my Jeep obsession. I find, however, the correlation between money spent on my fiance and money I get to spend on my Jeep is roughly equal so I don't mind.

Sweet set, those red letter tires look mean. I PM'd Matt here on the forums and he made sure that I got all the discounts of the new deal. This is why I love these guys they could have easily just said no. Supposedly the wheels I ordered (also MB72's) are coming in on the 19th so hopefully there are enough on that order to get mine. Waiting is killing me.
