Currently sitting in the service dept. New heads needed. and no loaner being provided

I came to the jeep dealership in Thomson, GA last tuesday because of a check engine light. I told them it was a cylinder 4 misfire and was worried that my head may need replacing (thanks to things I learned on this fine forum). They cleared the code and "updated the software" and sent me on my way. 20 miles later the light came back on. Brought it back in today, Now it's now 10 a.m., been here for two hours. Was finally told that I most likely will need to have heads replaced. I was told by the service manager that it may take a few days to get the parts (understandable) but then when I asked about being given a loaner while the work was being done I was told no, that they don't do that. Is it too much to ask that a loaner car be given when a major job has to be done on my jeep, especially when it's a manufacturer issue (not like I ruined my engine after only owning the car for 9 months and 11500 miles)

Just wondering if I'm out of line for assuming they'd give me a loaner.

Jeep gives you a loaner, not the dealership - you need to call them, Enterprise will pick you up at the dealership. 1-800-992-1997

You aren't out of line.

I'd call the 1-800 Chrysler phone number and get them involved.

What did Jeep say? Are they getting you a loaner?

What did ya get for a loaner? Just curious what sub compact they dropped in your lap.

Because we all know a rental car is the worlds fastest car!

I had similar issues here in TX. Check engine was on for a tranny issue at 1000mi. Enterprise had an office on site so I was put into one. But when I later brought the car back they made comments about how they "assumed" I had an extended warranty which would grant me additional time in a loaner. Otherwise, I'd need to pay for it over 2-3 days... Quality Chrysler. You offer me a rental since I'm still in my warranty but then try to foot me the bill... give me a break.

I got a Fiat 500 for 3 weeks. Small, but surprisingly fun to drive. Was glad to have my JK back though.

I would take out my frustrations out on the loaner. I mentioned here before that on the way home from the dealer with my brand new BMW the anti lock light came on. They had my brand new car with less than 100 miles for a month trying figure out why the light was on. I walked into the service dept after a couple of weeks and they had the whole interior ripped out of my car chasing the electrical problem. Needless to say I beat the ever loving s--- out the loaner. I'm really amazed the loaner was still running when I turned it in.
