Custom Paint Jobs

I have noticed over the past few months of being a part of the WF that I don't see a lot of custom paint. If you have a custom paint job, then please share it.

I think it's just because there are so many other mods we consider more worth while and jeeps really aren't focused on that type of stance...a different style of stance.

you'd see custom paint all over at the vw community.

I wouldn't mind getting my fender flares color matched, may do them myself, haven't decided!

those gecko, dozer, crush, mango tango, cosmos blue, bfg, rescue green, arctic, etc are all pretty "custom" in my book...

If I had gotten a black (didn't) I would have had a punisher skull painted on the hood... If.

I think the only custom paint jobs you are going to find is spray on or roll one bedliner.

Weak Sauce..... Pastel colors just dont do it for me. Not sure how VW's relate to Jeeps. I was thinking more along the lines of DYI jobs in flats, two tones, etc. Not flames, tribals, racing stripes, chameleons, etc.

I used that as an example to better explain why you won't see that type of stuff over here...we are focused on a different type of stance than lets say VW owners are (I drove a gti for 5 years).

and it's not weak, it's not as prioritized (last thing on our lists if it even makes the list)...paint jobs do nothing and cost too much. DIY* matte jobs look like s***

I see where you're coming from now... I haven't seen any DIY matte jobs, so I was kinda curious as to how they turned out. I agree there are many things on my list that are ahead of paint, just wanted to see who has done what.

I'll agree with Caso's example. Having been involved with VWs for many years also (2 custom GTIs and 1 featured Jetta) custom paint and exterior mods were an important part of the stance. Something that Jeep owners typically aren't concerned with. Personally, I'm in the middle. I'm obviously not obsessed about custom paint for the Jeep but I still enjoy cleaning and taking care of the paint, unlike most Jeep owners on this forum who would argue that a Jeep never needs to be cleaned. Play hard and clean up your toys afterwards so they'll last a long time.

How about this one? Project Renegade gets it's Shrockworks bumper! - JKowners.com : Jeep Wrangler JK Forum

Jeeps aren't street machines and aren't always looking pristene, therefore a $3K paint job isn't worth it. I have seen full vinyl wraps in matte but even that can push $2k for a full vehicle wrap on a 4 door.

Hummmmm, I don't know about that one Puke. Might blend in with a herd of albino giraffe's real well.
Hopefully there was a can of turpintine or paint thinner close by??

this one has been 5 or 6 different colors... settled on the tan top permanently, because dark colors turn it into an easy bake oven. Not sure if the bottom half color is final or not (been thinking about flat OD green on the bottom half... maybe even plasti dip)

Used a compressor and acrylic once, and it was just too much effort, so I'm sticking to IDGAF spray paint from now on
