Dana 30 front carrier. Switching form 3.21 to 4.88

I'm getting my gears done in less then 2 months. I drive a 2010 sport. Dana 30 up front and a Dana 44 out back. Im putting 4.88 front and rear. Skreamin lizard customs is telling me I would need a new carrier for my Dana 30 if I put 4.88's in it. Is this true? If so did you have to do it if you run 4.88's?

Yes you do. the 3.73 and higher numbers are a different carrier to the 3.21 which really sucks.

What do you mean by a new carrier? Like a whole new axel or just something in the diff?

Yeah carriers have to be updated. I am going to be doing the same in about 2 weeks. I decided to bite the bullet and since I already have to upgrade the carrier I'm throwing an ARB locker on the back. Might as well put the money toward it rather than a carrier.

I also have a 2010 sport 6 spd with the Dana 30 up front and the 44 in the back. I'm also going to 4.88s.

I have a 2011, 6-speed. I just upgraded from 3.21s to 4.88's. G2 gears installed. New carriers were required according to the shop that installed mine.
