Dana 60?

Today I came across a deal on CL for front and rear Dana 60's with 4.10 gearing out of a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 for $900 and was wondering what I would have to do to make these work in my JKU. It seems most of the other threads I have seen have been on installing ready built axles. What would have to be done to make these fit and would the overall cost still put me at about the same price to just purchasing a ready built axle specific to the JK?

First thing, getting them under the JK. Spring perches, shock mounts, and control arm brackets would need to be relocated.

Getting custom drivelines to mate the axles to the transfer case.

Finding a way to adapt the speed sensors in the hubs to the Dana 60 hubs. Or find a way to adapt your JK hubs to the Dana 60 knuckles. (Custom axle shafts).

Then there is the issue of wheel change if you stick with the Dana 60 hubs.

If you can do all of this on your own, then you come out ahead. Factor in labor to do all this, then you may be close to a new one.

Thanks Bob. I am all for a good challenge, but this is something I have not done before so I thought I would ask around first before I just jumped head first into 2 inches of water.

It's a tough project for a first timer. Find someone who has done it before who can help you through it or be very thorough in doing research and the build.
