Need some knowledgeable advice here. I installed a Zone Offroad 3" Lift a little while back and through the forum, discovered that loosening and re-torquing the control arms and track bars at the new ride height can release any binding in the bushings and improve the ride. I had access to a mechanic's bay, lift, and tools when I installed the lift, but do not now. So instead of trying to buy the wrenches needed and laying the street to do it, I took it by a local shop and showed them exactly what needed to be done. Half hour of shop time and it drove a lot nicer. Unfortunately, they must not have tightened one of the bolts on the rear track bar relocation bracket and it came out. Luckily I noticed that it was missing and that the bracket had started to crack while we were out at my in-laws. I drove it back carefully and about a quarter mile from the house, the bracket sheared completely in half and the track bar fell down onto the shock. We limped home at like 2 mph and it's been sitting since Sunday while I was waiting on delivery of the new part.
Here's the deal. I have the part. How bad is it going to be if I limp the 1 mile up to the mechanic to have them put it on with air tools and a torque wrench? If I drive really slowly will I be okay? Am I seriously risking damaging the control arms or anything else?
