Dark Cherry Red with after market rims?

I am taking delivery of a '12 Dark Cherry Red JKU and will be adding the AEV 2.5" lift and larger tires this weekend. I'm trying to decide on which rims to add, any suggestions with pictures? I plan on running 33" BFG's or Dura Tracks. I am considering purchasing a set of 18" Sahara take-offs....

In most cases tires for larger wheels cost more. Scrap the 18" idea.
Plus the backspacing is horrible on stock wheels. Aftermarket will give you the backspacing you need for a bigger wider tire to fit.

Check out the forum sticky's for ideas/pics .

No way would I buy take off to put bigger tires on. First off you will need to buy wheel spacers just to get 33's on those factory wheels. Spacers will cost $200. I am sure you can find much better after market choices for what the take offs plus wheel spacers will end up costing you. Not to mention 18" tires are way too expensive and you will barely notice the difference from 17 to 18" wheels

Extra cost of spacers plus extra cost of tires savings, should buy some nice wheels with correct backspacing

I agree with both guys above.

At first glance, the thread below would seem not to apply to you and your Jeep. I'd say read it anyway. Great info on choosing the right wheel size as it pertains to tire cost. Also explains backspacing and how it affects the placement of your tires in relation to your Jeep.

Largest tire on stock JK? Here's your answer!

I like ChasmCrawler's set up: GY Duratracs LT315/70R17 on 17" XD Addicts
I ordered the same wheel and tire combination as CC's except I went with 285/70R17s, I should have pics by the end of this week as I pick up my new Jeep this weekend.

Nice choice. Best looking wheel for a JK in my opinion. Just wish they weren't so damn expensive.

Thanks for all of the info! Mostly onroad, daily driver. I typically hit mild trails 2-3 times each year. Anyone running MB TKO's or 72's?

Thanks!

MB's aren't a very popular wheel on WF...

33x12.5R15 Goodyear Duratracs installed pics & video
16 inch MB72s and 35 inch duratracs
MB72 15" + Duratracs Installed
Got my MB Wheels TKO on!
FINALLY got my MB72s & DuraTracs!
Anyone have a picture of the MB Wheels TKO?

mostly daily driver and little to no off roading, get whatever wheels you want (size), tires are more expensive for 17's or 18's but as far as looks they are much better than 15's or 16's. just imo. good luck with your choice, make sure you show us some pictures of what you end up with!

JKUS with Rugged Ridge wheels and 285/70/17 Duratracs. The RR wheels have enough backspacing to prevent you from having to do any further mods to have the tires clear.

Lets see more of these pics. I have the same color and am looking to do the same thing......there are way too many rim choices out there. Do I go chrome, polished or black???? I need pictures to help me decide.

Deep Cherry Red 12' JK on BFG AT 32x11.5-15 mounted to MB72 15x8. No lift. Just 19/60 springs and RS9000XL shocks. Mopar Offroad Bumper Front w/winch mount and Rear Mopar Offroad bumper w/tire Carrier.
Wanted the heavier springs to offset the 200lbs of extra bumper weight and Enhanced Rubicon Rock Rail weight.

WOW! My JK's alter ego in a soft top!

I took all the stickers and badging off a couple of days after buying the JK. All except the "Trail Rated" badge. And it would have come off today had my "spider wire" fishing line not broke this afternoon.
Just not liking even the one "Trail Rated" badge.

Here is mine with Fuel rims, Nitto's, and Teraflex spacers. I want a little more flex so I am upgrading to the TF full 2.5 lift within the next few weeks. I stayed with 18's and have no regrets.
