Angry Dark Saddle Interior Leather NO longer an option ? Jeep.com

According to
2014 Jeep Wrangler - Interior Features Including Deluxe Storage

Dark Saddle is an available leather interior for the Jeep wrangler, but When I'm building the jeep wrangler at jeep.com this does not seem to be an available interior option, ever seat remains black with just the saddle center console. whats the deal?

I love these seats and was planning on buying a new wrangler, anyone have any ideas?

Maybe only for certain exterior color choices?

It is still there.

Saddle leather is only available on the Sahara and Rubicon models.

When you order saddle cloth, you get black cloth seats with tan threading and the saddle color interior panels (as the pic in Build Your Own shows).
However, when you select the leather option (after selecting saddle), that is when the entire seats are saddle (as your pic shows).

I LOVE saddle leather.

Awesome thanks, hopefully picking one up soon so many choices. Haven't had a jeep since I was 17 (1994 wrangler)

I picked it for my 2014 on order. Hate the all-black look. Good thing they have that option.

I wish I could see this color in person. From the pictures of actual vehicles I have seen on the internet, the color varies widely from dark
to a more mediumhttp://dealerrevs.com/gallery/83675320.html
Could someone who owns this interior please verify which color is a more accurate representation? Thanks

Its more like the color in the link you posted. It's a rough texture. It's not the smooth soft leather I had in my Land Cruiser. Still, I like it.

Thank you. So just to be sure we are talking the same thing, is it more of what I called medium than the dark?

Yes, more medium. It's not as dark as the picture in your post. More like the picture in the link. The brown trim pieces are also not that dark. I'll see if I can grab a picture. Give me a minute or two.

I just took this picture. The darkness from the picture in your post is probably from bad lighting/camera setting.

Awesome! That is exactly the answer I was hoping for. That color is perfect for me. I really wouldn't be interested in that interior had it been as pictured in the darker version. I really like the two-tone look of the dash as well!

I quite imagine that interior would go well with black, copperhead, flame red or dune exterior.

Thanks again for the picture.

Saddle leather interior rules!
And yes, it can be hard to tell from pictures. Even on the Jeep site, sometimes it look dark, other times it is light.

I love the two tone interior. It breaks up the "cave" and makes it look more classy.

Throw in the matching Hotheads....and it really looks nice.

Or just go naked and enjoy not burning your rump....especially if you have a Spiderwebshade!

Our saddle leather is a bit darker than your pic. I was glad as it goes better with Amp'd interior.

Mark,
By matching hot heads you mean they make saddle colored?
Thanks

That was a must on this new Jeep. I ordered with that lighter interior and the dark saddle leather. I absolutely detested that all-black cave-like look. The shade tends to vary but that matters little to me. Hotheads makes a color that matches pretty closely.

By the way, I think the option is a dark saddle and black combo.

Hate to resurrect a thread that is a few months old but does any one know where I could possibly get my seats upholstered in saddle leather or even do it myself? How much do you think it runs? 2,000.00 maybe?

All your Jeep interiors look awesome by the way, I am very jelly.

When we went to look at Wrangler we had no idea saddle even existed. First dealer had nothing but black. We saw the saddle in the brochure and inquired about it. Dealer try to tell us it was $1500 add on. We went to second dealer and about 70% of their wrangler had saddle leather and it was not a $1500 option. We bought at second dealer.
Look lighter in picture but in person a little darker. Really like it.

Since saddle seats are available only in leather (as mentioned above, the saddle interior in cloth, the seats are actually still black), you need the leather option one way or another.

Leather is indeed a $1,300 option. OK, so the dealer rounded the cost up a bit. But essentially, the dealer was correct. If you picked a special edition where leather was included, you still paid for it in the cost of that package.

thanks StarBite, I have been browsing their site the past few days. Not sure they have a saddle color though. Unless I missed it. KatZkin makes slip covers that are installed by designated installers right?

Is it possible to get actual Jeep saddle leather? I might start checking junk yards for totaled vehicles if there isn't a way to buy Factory leather seats, even though I am sure that is a shot in the dark in itself. Over all 1,500 seems fair for all leather seats. Still a large chunk of cash but it seems worth it to me. Just need to find them now =]

Not to derail the thread, but what is the Deluxe Storage part of this option?

More storage is always good

And I do really like the saddle. I may have to add Katskinz as part of my upgrade plan...

I love the look (and have that in the Black 2011 Grand Cherokee.) But I am SOOOO glad I didn't spring for leather on my JK. I love to get offroad with it and for me, I would be paranoid if I cared about the pretty insides. As it is, I put neoprene covers over the OEM cloth, because I leave the doors off all summer. I would never do that with leather (want to SEE that stuff.) I'm afraid that I would make choices to not go into mud or things like that if I had such a pretty interior. Just like I do with the GC Overland.

Leather is pretty strong from my experiences. You just need to clean it and moisturize it every week or so to keep it pristine. I love wheeling and mudding of all sorts so my jeep gets plenty filthy. But I am also that guy that will then bring it home and spray down the whole under carriage and wax every thing.

Any more recommendations for saddle leather seats?
