It took awhile to get it, but it came. Well built, easy install. Just what my left foot needed. Worth every penny.

So, I've always driven manuals and know I will choose the same for my JKU, but on the test drive I was very surprised by the lack of space between the clutch and the door -- it creates a "don't know where to put my foot" situation when cruising as I've always had a dead pedal in every other stick i've owned.

If a kit like this is still not available for manuals, other than resting your foot on the hinge when the doors are off (which I did with my rental jk and loved), what are you 3 pedal guys doing for left foot comfort? thanks.

I am going to be the odd man out and say yes and no. Shorter drivers may find the highest setting is still not high enough. Make sure whoever u by from has a good return policy and never ever buy directly from a merchant in China where they are made. No US return address no buy.

There is NO room for one if you are driving a manual, I want one but I think I would have to pull off the plastic that shields the foot well to get anything in there. I wanted something on my TJ and I still want something on my JK.

Thanks for the thread bump. Just realized another item I had to have for my JKUR that I didn't know existed. Order just placed with extreme terrain using some PayPal bucks I had from selling useless junk on eBay.

I don't care who you are or what height you are.... with an AT the M.O.R.E. Dead pedal is a Top 5 must have - no doubt.

Get it.

Anyone know of a dead pedal in billet aluminum or with a cleaner design than the M.O.R.E.? Not a fan of all the holes and nooks and crannies to trap mud...

I installed a dead pedal over the weekend.

I haven't had a chance to try it out on a long trip yet, but Wrangler's upright seating position appears to make the need for a dead pedal rather superfluous.

Maybe I need to make it a habit to rest my foot on it.

Funny...I started this thread back in 2011. Embarrassingly, I just got around to getting a dead pedal a couple months ago.

How long have you had your jk? Is this something you get used to, or does it still create that 'i don't know where to put my foot' feeling?

When I first got the JK I really felt like it needed a dead pedal, but now I just don't notice anymore. I tend to rest my left foot flat on the floor like you are sitting in a chair with my heel on the bolt of the seat mounting bracket.. But I do think the seat is too high and I can't imagine how shorter people are comfortable driving one since I would very much like the floor to be closer to the seat for my left foot's comfort and I have it as low as it will adjust... and I'm a just shy of 6 feet tall.

A "dead pedal" like the one we had in our Honda Element would do the trick... just a wedge-shaped rise in the floor at the edge, below and to the left of the clutch pedal. Much more flat than the dead pedal discussed here. Maybe I'll hack something together.

just installed mine. i'd hurt my ankle over the summer and on long drives it would ache a bit. much nicer place to put my left foot and ankle doesn't hurt, at least while driving.

I have the dead pedal installed but to be honest I am not using it that much. I am quite a bit shorter than you and have no problem resting my left foot on the floor. I have an automatic. Perhaps if I had a manual engaging the clutch could be problematic, not sure. There are other styles of dead pedals besides the M.O.R.E and the other Chinese identicals. I saw one that was completely flat and could be positioned higher.

This sounds like a business opportunity.. I've been looking for one for 3 years.

All I see are copy cats of the same thing..

Ive had my JK for a few months now but had the same issue with the TJ. Its one of those things that you think "come on, no foot rest?" Yes it bugs the crap out of me and I keep trying to figure out a way around it, just been too busy doing other things that are easier!

Odd man out on this one, I remove them for vehicles. I like the extra space with no pedal in the way.

I saw one on the internet that is a flat design but I can't remember where. Have u done a Google? I think it was even American made. When it comes to copying the Chinese have no rival. Their foot rests seem to be ok but a lot of their stuff is plain crap. Be careful and never order directly from China unless they have a USA address for returns. It can be a royal PITA trying to get a quick refund out of them.
