dealer is telling me they can install cruise control

I was looking at a used unlimted today and one thing I need to have is cruise control. I can do without the electric windows etc, but too much hwy driving... has anyone done this or heard of this being done before on a Jeep?

I'm smiling cause my first Jeep had no heater, no defroster and vacuum wipers that
stopped if you cam to an idle!

Cruise control should be able to be added. They sell aftermarket units.

I have seen the factory cruise control for sale online so I'm sure the dealer parts department can get it. I remember seeing on other forums write-ups from JK owners installing the factory unit themselves. Don't settle for an aftermarket unit.

I had an aftermarket cruise put in mine. Looks just like factory and works great.

Rostra makes a lot of these parts and sells them to dealers and can be purchased retail as well.

The X I wanted (the only one I could find with tow package) came without and I had the dealer add it.. Works fine.. It is kind of an odd system compared to the ones on all the Hondas and Acuras I've owned, but I've not had any problems with it.

Sounds like my first two jeeps! I always carried an ice scraper in the Jeep during the winter to scrape the frost off of the INSIDE of the windshield!

It's a stalk unit similar to Toyota's. Gets in the way sometimes while wheeling but is very handy on the highway.
Civilized Wranglers; not an oxymoron any longer.
