Dealers

Hello,
I am looking to purchase a new Jeep Wrangler. I have previously owned a 2004 TJ and a 2007 JKU. There is not a lot of inventory near me. I found a dealer in NJ that has over 100 wranglers in stock and good prices. It is called Cherry Hill Triplex. Lot of bad reviews about it just from a quick google. Anybody know about them? I would have to travel 240 miles to purchase there so really want to have my plan tight. I am in Upstate NY about 1.5 hours fron Syracuse or Rochester. Any help or recommendations would be appreciated..

I can't help with that exact dealer as I am in Indiana but I would say that with the majority of car dealerships, online ratings should be taken with a grain of salt.

I have also heard bad things about them but that was years ago. I would keep looking for something closer to home but that is just me.

Yeah I think it's like apartment reviews, they are all over the place and hard to trust.

I just bought my Jeep at a dealer with a 2 out of 5 star rating on Google, but yet the whole process was smooth and I have no complaints about them.

The process of buying a new car sucks, but that's everywhere

Kind of hard to narrow down the geography. 1.5 hours from Syracuse / Rochester is a lot of area. Anyway, get signed up for the Chrysler Affiliate / Tread Lightly discount. You will be starting your negotiations at 1% below invoice and if you are a good negotiator, you might be able to do better than that.

I have heard that Doan Jeep in Rochester is a pretty fair and straight bunch of folks. They do not have a huge inventory.

If that does not work for you, you can do a factory order and or contact Pat at Fields outside of Chicago if you are willing to travel. I have heard nothing but raves about him on this forum. Look at the ads at the top of the page for his contact info.

I found a dealer 2 hours away that worked with me on Tread Lightly discount and the additional $500 rebate and they even delivered it to my home with a full tank of gas for no charge!

It couldn't hurt to call around and see if someone is willing to do that for you. It was painless and took 15 minutes to walk through car and sign paperwork!

I have a great dealer out here on Long Island. It might be a hike for you but my contact is directly with the sales manager so the pricing was awesome. I'm also going to echo what everyone else is saying about reviews. My dealer was slammed with negative reviews online, but having dealt with them personally, I can see how a lot of those complaints were from unreasonable, impatient customers. Let me know if you want his info.

Got mine from Cherry Hill.
Went in ready to deal and came out with a 2012 Rubicon.
They tried to low ball me on my trade-in until I offered to take them on a tour of the vehicle to show them exactly why they were going to give me what I was asking for it, and they caved right away. (I took extraordinary care of my last vehicle)

Overall I don't really have any complaints about them.
My sales guy Gene was pretty sharp when it came to knowing the Wrangler too.

I haven't used their service department because another dealership is right next to where I work, so I can't comment on that aspect.

I do know that when I started calling around about Jeeps that they were the only close dealership that had any 2012 Rubicons in stock, and they had a TON of them when we got there.

Local dealers that will honor Tread Lightly discount include Par-K Jeep in Fulton, N.Y. and Cortland Chrysler Jeep. You can check inventory online. Burdick has always been a no go for me. P.M. me if you need further assistance and be sure to check out CNYJEEP.Org.

Good Luck!

strider_mt2k right be the first person to have a good experience from there

I would avoid Cherry Hill Triplex. I personally think they are sneaky and are no good. I have dealt with them twice before (2 seperate occasions) and both times they would not work with me. It has been 5 or 6 years now since I went to them so they may have changed. Personally, I would look elsewhere.

You're probably better off with a local dealer instead of a big box store that you would have to travel to. I would go to a local dealer that is known to have a good reputation for sales and service, discuss what you want and they might be able to trade with another dealer if you don't see what you like there. If not, you might want to consider ordering exactly what you want. It really won't take that long. I'm glad I ordered a JK. It was a good experience and great to check the boxes.
