I have my 2012 in for warranty work (transmission line recall and my windshield washer nozzle broke off). I'm sitting in the showroom and noticed a Dragon edition minus the decals. Sticker is $42,000. Dealer sticker indicates "Telluride Edition" which adds an additional $1000 to the price. For the life of me I can't figure out what that includes. Wheels, tires, bumpers, and steps are all stock. Anyways, I just thought it was somewhat funny to debadge the hard-to-sell Dragon (especially here in Colorado) and add $1000 to the price. Nothing against the Dragon Edition owners.

Don't call them the "stealership" for nothing.

Well I can understand the mark-up... they had to pay their technician to remove the dragon decals, plus the marketing guy at the stealership that coined: "telluride edition" LOL!!!

That is awesome. Needs 24's with lopro tires and bring back the spinners. Gotta be a way to attach a wing to that rear tire carrier too.

I have seen a couple of debadged dragons, and one still in full glory driving around west Houston.

Also saw one as part of a give away in the SA North Star mall. Debadged.

IMO, taking the decals off makes the seats seam really out of place in a Jeep.

Chrysler/jeep is so out of touch. If they spent $10.00 on any research it would have told them not to do it. Makes you kind of scared of the decisions that are not so obvious that we do not know about. I wonder who's brain child it was??? I bet he is now heading up the 4 cylinder wrangler design team.

Agreed. I sent Chrysler my suggestion for the Wrangler...Wombat edition. Still waiting to hear back from them though.

Cadillac dealers in metro Phoenix take standard off the floor models, have a pinstriper paint on a saguaro cactus, with pinstriping, then call it an 'Arizona edition'. The price is a few thousands more. They also paint small crossed golf clubs and pinstripes - with the 'Tour edition' name - this too costs thousands more.

Plenty of 'low performance' auto buyers are willing to snap them up.

Some Jeep dealers 'fish' from the same pond of fools with too much money.

Heck, I'd pay twice that to de-dragon my Dragon Edition if I had one

What's funny is that in ~30 years or so, the unaltered Dragon edition will be as rare and sought after by collectors as the 1961-1965 Tuxedo Park editions of the CJ5 & CJ6.

That's probably true but you would have to own/look at/drive it for all those years.

Not worth it IMO!

Medved should be ashamed of themselves for charging $1000 more for a de-badged Dragon Edition. It appears to still have those crappy gold accents...I wonder how much they would charge to get rid of those.

Jeep has too many limited editions. They need to stop it already. They were smart for adding the led lights but that's about it

Introducing the Jeep Wrangler "Limited Edition" limited edition. It come from the factory with nothing more than you'd get in a Sport S but to celebrate all of the prior limited edition packages, it's got every sticker ever slapped on a Jeep*. It might sound gawdy, but at least it isn't the Dragon Edition.

*Dragon Edition stickers not included.

Back in June when I bought my Jeep from Autonation, Colorado Chrysler Jeep had 12 Dragons sitting on the lot. My understanding is most are still there.

Had to comment on this thread New to the forum-should be picking up my 2014 JKU Sport S this week from Colorado Chrysler Jeep....they had 8 Dragon Editions and one on the showroom that was debadged. They were literally begging for me to buy one and giving HUGE discounts, 33k was the lowest they were willing to go, but in the end I just couldn't do it. Only reason I was considering was I liked the factory Nav and heated leather....but God those seats are ugly as hell!! I finally came to the realization of what's the point of paying 3-4 grand more for a Jeep that I'm going to strip everything off of?
The one on the showroom floor had the graphic removed and grill blacked out, looked pretty decent(like a black Sahara) and that's what got me considering it but they were trying to charge $1000 for the sticker removal and rebuffing of the paint. So the sticker price was $36k fully loaded. Salesman was funny, kept making fun of it with my girlfriend and playing "Unleash the Dragon" by Sisqo on his phone LoL, yet was begging me to make an offer on one of the 8.
Why would Jeep make a LE so far out of touch with it's target market?

With a little bit of money and time you could mod it to an acceptable level (seat covers, plastidip, etc.), but only if the price is right, which they evidently weren't willing to do.

Evidently they released the dragon (LOL) edition at a car show in Japan or China, and it was popular enough there that they decided it would be good here, too.

I'd really like to know how Many of these were made and how many actually sold. It has to be the worst LE Jeep has done.

Jeep is pretty close mouthed on release numbers. Since they claim their numbers keep going up, I'm not sure why that is though.

There's one on a lot here. The pics on the dealer's site have snow on the ground, so it's been there since January. Been wondering if they'd sell it cheap enough to make a decent Jeep out of it.

Not to get off topic but Rothrock in Allentown, PA (where I bought my Jeep in Aug '11) STILL.......I repeat.....STILL has a 2012 JKUS with the JK8 Package. Was at $47k for two years and now down to "only" $35k. Base model sport too....woof

God help me but I absolutely LOVE them - gaudy gold accents, matte black dragon & all! Seeing one in the showroom when getting my VW serviced is what inspired me to get back into a Jeep. I know it's wrong, it goes against so much of why I love Jeeps - but I am a bit of a pimp at heart (plus it would totally match my husband's tattoo)! I know, still not a good reason...I'll slink away now...

WTF was Chrysler/Jeep thinking when they made these?? There is one near my work a girl drives, but most of it was debadged and only the dragon is on the tire cover. They are so fugly. Was Chrysler/Jeep going after the Asian crowd to take away from Foreign SUVs?
