Decal Removal

Has anyone had a problem with removing decals from a new jeep and it left an impression or basically messed up the paint?

No. Did you? As above states- I just used my fingernail and it peeled right off. Goo gone took off all the sticky left behind. No indication at all that anything was previously ever there.

Unless you don't get it all and drive on dusty roads all weekend like I did and realize the thin film of goop isn't really gone yet....

Nice rectangular outline where the "sport" once was

easy removal--I took the "sport" decals off--replaced on passenger side with the WWII invasion star, and the Willy's 6 original logo on drivers side.

Super easy!

I need to post pics!

Side decals are easy as stated, anyone have any luck getting the hood decal off of an Altitude edition? The stick will come off but the glue won't, no matter how much Goo Gone is applied.

fingernail and goo gone....have patience with the goo gone though, don't power rub swirls into your paint.

No problem if you take your time. Use a blow dryer and the Goo Gone as indicated above. The stickers must be made by different manufacturers as the "wrangler" sticker comes off very easy and leaves no residue. The "sport" sticker on the other hand leaves a glue residue. To remove the residue you need to apply several coats of the Goo Gone and it will slowly come off. When it is off, apply some wax to the area and you won't be able to tell that the sticker was removed.

WD40 can be used in place of goo gone. If you can keep the sticky stuff wet with wd40 for a minute it will wipe right off. One way to do it is just soak a rag with wd and hold it on the sticky stuff. Lighter fluid will also work.
A warm sticker will certainly come off easier than a cold one.
