delayed starting

Hello all. I have a concern I wanted to see if you may have some ideas The service people just blow me off and I would like it addressed while under warranty. The problem is one out of every three times my 2007 wrangler sahara delays starting. it rattles and shakes for a second or two then it starts. ITs not every time nor does it seem to matter if its a cold or hot motor.

any ideas or experience with this problemo.

Definatly an issue that I would take up with the service people. Not just 'cause the jeep has issues, but sounds to me like so does the service department! Have you tried talking to the management? I hate lazy people ya know?

delayed start

yes i know I'll have to push the issue. I'll wait till it gets real cold here and see though. It might help me diagnose it a little. If it acts no different then its not a starvation issue but simple a sensor maybe. who knows

Are you refering to when you turn the key to start it turns over fast longer than normal before starting? If so mine does that occasionally also. In fact if you release the key it will continue to turn over until it starts. I was told they were designed that way(go figure). I also read somewhere the dealer can disable that feature by reflashing the ECM. I intend to do that when I take it in for servicing next time.

The delayed starting is normal. It does this to make sure that the motor is fully running and keeps you from accidentally trying to restart it while the motor is turning over. For the most part its a precaution to save your starter and flywheel. Nothing to worry about.
