I am only able to get the emergency flashers to stop blinking when unlocking my jeep. I can't figure out how to keep the headlights from turning on. I'm using the key fob to try to turn them off in a 2012 JKU. Can anyone tell me what I need to do?

from the Owner's Manual:

Quote:
To Turn Off Flash Lights With Lock
This feature will cause the turn signal lights to flash when
the doors are locked or unlocked with the RKE transmitter.
This feature can be turned on or turned off. To change
the current setting, proceed as follows:
• For vehicles equipped with the EVIC, refer to “Electronic
Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)/Personal
Settings (Customer-Programmable Features)” in “Understanding
Your Instrument Panel” for further information.
• For vehicles not equipped with the EVIC, perform the
following steps:
1. Press the RKE transmitter UNLOCK button for 4 to
10 seconds.
2. While the UNLOCK button is pressed, (after four
seconds) press the RKE transmitter LOCK button. Release
both buttons.
3. Test the “Flash Lights With Lock” feature outside of
the vehicle by pressing the RKE transmitter LOCK button
with the ignition in the LOCK position and the key
removed.
...
The “Flash Lights With Lock” feature can be reactivated
by repeating this procedure.

Go into the EVIC menu, personal settings, headlamp off delay. Choose 0 to keep them off. Otherwise you can choose 30, 60 or 90 seconds delay.

Did you know your owner's manual has a reference to the owner's manual in it? See it? On the right hand side? Really Jeep, Really??

My jeep is to low tech & has no EVIC, guess I have to live with the headlights on.

Hmm...
Sounds like this is what you are referring too.
I was under the impression that when I locked my doors the Illuminated Entry turned off. I will try to check tonight.

I just reread your post about this effecting you when unlocking.... Sorry.. doesn't look promising unless you are willing to lose your dome lights.

I didn't know the sunvisors extended, the tailgate had a built in door stop and you could reprogram the alarm system through the user interface to

Must be a 2012 thing; nothing I can find in the 08 OM that allows me to stop the headlights from coming ON. ugh.

Oops...

With EVIC, "Illuminated Approach" (= headlights on with remote unlock) can be turned off, or set to stay on for 30, 60, or 90 seconds.

Without EVIC, your dealer can set it for you with "Starscan", unless someone knows a "magic dance" to turn it off.

Something I found...
Since my doors are off, every time I parked somewhere, I would unplug my phone and lock up the charger in the lower/larger center console. Well, there is no need to do that anymore because inside that console is a charging outlet and there is a little indention for your charging cord to hang out of the side. This allows your charging cord to be locked up at all times and still plugging in or removing your phone while you're out and about without unlocking/locking the console.

I don't think this is on my 2012 Jeep sport.

I'll check again. I'm only familiar with visors that have a extra piece of plastic that slides out of the end. The ones that when closed you can see where is slides out from.

I know what you mean, my wife has that in her Toyota, not like that at all. On the Jeep, the entire visor slides on the post that attaches near the windshield.

All models have the 12V outlet in the console. Look on the inside front face of the console, about 1/2 way down.

The USB port in the console only comes with the Connectivity option.

Yeah all this stuff is in the owner's manual. For the last few years, you have had to call chrysler and request a free copy of the manual...they are only sending out DVDs and basic materials now to save paper and $$$.

I especially like that the '11 and newer models have a provision for A/C pollen/dust filters behind the glove box.

Yep, I have the 12V in the front console but no USB for this girl. I went pretty basic with my Jeep. No need for fancy stuff for me.
