Recently bought two Jeeps from my local dealer so I guess he figured he had better fill up both tanks which he did. That should be a no brainer for these dealers...if they want that customer back you need to do things like full tanks and good customer service.

I got a " let me talk it over with the sales manager" to begin with. Gave me the "we can't sell this thing without doors speech". That's when I came back with the auction comment, and then they were ok with it.
Bought an 11 new in June, and they filled it up before I took it home. Washed it too, and then the salesman and I had a good laugh at that moment being the cleanest that Jeep was ever going to be. So far, all four cars I've bought have come with full tanks.
Gave 'em a Hynudai running on fumes and got a brand new fully filled and washed 2012 JKU Rubi!
I thought it was cool, but I don't think I'd waste a moment caring if it needed gas.
I'm going to be filling it quite a bit in the coming years, one tank at the start means nothing.
I was thrilled to be in MY new Jeep. That's all I cared about at the time.

When I went in to pick up my jeep as soon as the dealer seen me he asked me for my plate so that he could put it on and go fill up the tank. And while I was waiting he told me and my wife to go pick out a couple of jeep ball caps, i know its not much but it made me smile.

The '08 from a small dealer was full. But the '12 wasn't. It was from a different dealer (biggest in Denver). I mentioned it to the sales rep and he jokingly said that they won't sell gas if the Conoco across the street won't sell Jeeps.
If I had the $$ to afford a $30,000 plus jeep- gas would be the last thing on my mind
Op - maybe they forgot ??
I expected a full tank like every other car I've ever bought so, yes, I was disappointed. It is a nice courtesy to have a full tank when you drive it off the lot. Afterall....you did just give them upwards of $30,000. I got a quarter tank.
Yep actually got 2 full tanks. Took delivery Friday of one Jeep, drove it all weekend, came back Monday to get the hard top put on, changed my mind on the color and picked up a different one. They filled it both times. Sure it's different for every dealer, just depends.
Same here. They loaned me a new Jeep with a full tank of gas for 4 days while they went to pick mine up. Then mine was filled up before I picked it up. I returned the loaner with about a quarter of a tank.
