Difference in fuel economy

A funny story which I'll save for later, but I have an opportunity to upgrade from a 08 JK X 90,000 Kms to an 08 JKUR 145,000 Kms. Both are manual.

Will there be a noticeable difference in fuel economy? I know the Rubicon has different gearing but is it only in first gear?

I live in a smaller community with only 8 traffic lights so it would be more rural, highway driving.

Should I do it?

I settled for the 2dr and wished that I had the Unlimited. A friend of ours contacted me with the advertisement of the Rubicon. Ends up they want us to buy the JKUR so they can buy our JK X. Seems like a no brainier but I don't want to unnecessarily get into much higher fuel expenses.

you will see a small drop in fuel mileage but lets face it you bought a jeep... if your primary focus was on fuel economy you wouldn't be here. Try and focus on smiles per gallon instead of miles per gallon, you'll be much happier!
