Different power levels in 12V plugs?

Hello -- I was just pumping up my tires with my plug in compressor and I noticed that the different plugs seem to have different power amp levels? Does anyone know if this is true and which 12V power plugs offer the best power?

For example I was using the rear plug in the cargo area to pump up the rear tires and spare, then plugged into the dash one near AC controls and noticed the compressor was much louder and also quicker. I didn't test the console plug at all.

THanks
