So how'd you get the hdmi? Or did you buy a bunch of converters?

Sorry, more questions. So I assume you have the apple lightning to hdmi connector?

And how did you power the hdmi/RCA converter?

Any pictures?

You can get any connector, I actually have both apple lightning to hdmi, and also the apple 30pin to hdmi (for displaying ipad). For power, I got a 6 ft usb extender that plugs into the AC outlet (in front of the center console) wire is tucked under the seat and goes behind the glove box/dash. You have to flip on the AC power for the converter to get enough juice. It wouldve been ideal to have power completely tucked away but my setup is not too bad.

Has anyone else done the Mopar camera kit and had the dealership flash the 430/730 unit? I went this route and the image is WAY out of focus...just wondering if there is some kind of focusing ring I am missing...

Those with the NAVTOOL does that system allow for multiple cameras? I need a system that allows for a front and rear camera.

Can anyone confirm if I get my dealer to do the flashcal, can I just buy the wiring harness (NTV-HAR120) will that be enough to add the camera? I'd love to not have to spend almost $300 on the kit to get a rear view camera. Looks like NAV-TV sells just the harness for like $69...Thanks!!!

I can confirm that you do not need a navtv or lockpick unless you want to run multiple cameras or or use video in motion. Dealer starscan will enable backup camera. Then all you need to do is add video feed. Recommend using aftermarket type camera as many have complained of poor quality video from the commander camera

But is there a harness you can buy that will allow you to run an aftermarket camera but plug right into the 730?

thats it there is no more options

I've been meaning to get one of those for awhile for my Lockpick V.5.

I just put it in my Amazon in box. I'll check out Monoprice and NewEgg as well.

Can't way to transfer YouTube videos to my 430rbz while driving. Of course that means a lot of Little Einstein's and Big Block videos for the kid.

Everything I've seen and read (including the dealer looking at my aftermarket camera and commenting on how much better it is than the factory camera) has led be to believe that the Moper/Commander camera simply sucks.

Have you had any issues with your Lockpick? I've had a one sitting waiting to be installed but read about all the bugs and held off. Was wondering what your experience has been like.

Why didn't you just pull switched power from the dash outlet? That's how I plan to wire mine. Also, there is 1 company that makes extend lightning cables that WILL pass data so you can extend that too. It's nice to have apple maps or google maps will traffic free!

There are two versions of the Lockpick, the standard V.5, and a more advanced (and expensive) CHR550. The advanced version seems to be full of bugs. The standard versions work a bit better.

I have the standard (V.5) and it has been great.....after I had it replaced. BUT...I kinda knew it would need to be replaced the moment I ordered it....so it is a bit of a one off. Double D Mods used to sell them for a really good price, and they were always out of stock. I called a few times, and one time he said he was about to get a new shipment in, and would send mine out. But then he noticed that he had one left on his desk, and he sent that one to me. When I got it, a little piece of plastic on it was already broken (so it could be opened easily) and it didn't work. My guess is that someone either broke it and had returned it, or it didn't work and had returned it.....and he sent me that bad unit. I should have known better because he had been out of stock every time I called...but happened to have one sitting on his desk. Once I got it replaced, the new unit has been flawless. We will see how it holds up in a few years.

Do you know who the company is? I would be interested in that cable.

I'm kind of a novice when it comes to wiring stuff but can you explain that cable that will pass data?

I plan to do a flush mount back up camera install into the rear bumper and connect to an after market radio head unit (Pioneer) which has a dedicated RCA camera input.

Lightning Extension Cable for iOS 7 (iPhone 5c / 5s compatible) | imod.co - lightning extension that WILL pass DATA. I bought two and they work.

If you want the HDMI to component and connect it to AUX input on the 430, you can use this: http://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Composi...iew+hd+hdmi2av

I also had the flush mount backup camera, there is an easy install if you want to use OEM parts; but there are good cheaper options. I plan to recess mine into the tailgate since I don't run a spare tire any more. But I cannot decide on a design to incorporate the license plate without losing the vent.

I have a 550 which is why it's still sitting in the box, on the shelf with the camera. I may try selling it and going with the V.5. I have a 430 with nav. so really the only functional improvement I'm looking for is back up camera and address input (by my responsible front seat passenger) while moving. My ipod seems to be there already along with folders and playlists etc.

Here is a link the the instuctions on the V.5. I think the 550 has a lot of the same inputs.

http://www.coastaletech.com/media/Ne...structions.pdf

What I found really helpful with the lockpick was the multiple 12V power lines available for low power equipment. The dedicated 12V line for the reverse cam is nice because it powers the camera ONLY when the vehicle is in reverse, OR if you turn it on manually (double click the phone button). But Lockpick also provides a constant 12V line, an accessory 12V line (this is what I used to power my Homelink), and another dedicated 12V line for the front/baby/side cameras.

It also has a 0-60 timer and RCA inputs and outputs that I've never used.

According to their description, you still need their main unit for this to function.....

Quote:
Plug'n'Play harness for A/V and backup camera input, as well as a video output for the DVD player that is built into the radio. This A/V Harness will not add any features without the ALLGIG module as well. You must purchase both the ALLGIG and ALLGIG A/V HARNESS to add any inputs to the radio. I.E: Rear cam, front cam, A/V Input and video output.

...just no nav-input while in motion for those of us with manual transmissions (>my2012). that is the one drawback i have had with my CHR550.

Just purchased 2014 wrangler with the 430N, wife immediately began complaining about lack of backup camera. So here is my simple solution for all that only cost me 120.00........
Completely plug and play with a harness and camera ordered from same company and they gave me a slight discount.......here is the link to the harness that plugs directly into back of factory radio
MyGIG Multimedia Harness
I flush mounted camera in center of spare tire, hole saw included with camera, can unplug camera easily when removing rear tire.
I did have local dealer flash/starscan radio, had to supply instructions from this site, thanks guys
Cam only works when in reverse, only reason I needed it, but maybe a drawback for some.....

Can you run another video source on this (like an Ipod) with the correct conversion cables? Or does it only do the backup cam?

SWEET!!! This is ALL I need! I just want to be able to see behind my spare tire when I'm backing out of my driveway, there are kids everywhere and I feel better with a camera.

Any camera will do, correct? I can get one from Amazon?
