DIY Clover Patch Soft Top Window Case

I've seen the Clover Patch from Quadratec. Seems like a nice product. I'd like to try to make my own though, so I can use my own choice of materials.

I've read that lots of people just buy fleece blankets and a duffel. But has anyone done this before, as a sewed together case? I'd be interested in dimensions, construction or any tips anyone has for making one of my own.

I'm thinking of putting the three blankets on a fabric setup similar to the spine of a book with three pages. A fourth page in the book would be a sleeve for a pool noodle section to prevent the windows from getting squashed, folded, creased, etc.. Then a 'cover' for the book lined with blanket fleece with a more durable fabric on the outside. Velcro tabs to keep the book closed and some OneWrap Velcro on the outside to keep the whole thing rolled up. Am I missing anything?

Thanks for your help!
