DIY flat fenders

Sup guys,
I own a 2012 2 door wrangler and I was wondering if you had any DIY plans or insite on building now or modifying the stock fenders to be flat. I also want to move them up for a few more inches to flex. Anything ideas will help just a project in planning.

Our friend Pluke's fender chop party.

YouTube has some other great DIY vids.

Just a question, but why a pic of a TJ as your avatar?
I have nothing to offer as far as fenders

Why a pic of a baseball team on a Jeep forum?

I was wondering if anyone ever cut up painted fenders. I was thinking of getting a set of flat black fenders and just swapping my painted fenders for chopped black ones. Might reconsider now...

Somebody just recently did so. Looked fine. the door trim in black looked a little weird. I would not let that stop me though.

Cut em, just did mine, looks great, and beats spending $500+ on new ones

Looks great. IMO that looks nicer then most flat fender kits. Does cutting them make the fender less strong structurally? Does it move more at speed and handle a branch on the trail? Has anyone seen a white with white fenders done? I would like to but I'm interested in seeing the finished product and wether or not the core of the fender being a different color would throw it off. Thanks.

Just did my Sahara also. Was hesitant at first...then I just quit thinking about it and did it. Don't regret it one bit.

I think I will be doing my painted fenders after seeing these. They look great and I haven't been able to find anything like it in the aftermarket.

If you look closely at the pics I posted you can see it relocated under the fenders behind the front blinker lights. There's a complete DIY video on YouTube to follow.

Can't wait to do that with mine. I do have one question on yours though, what did you heat shrink to the cut after you finished trimming them? I looked through a couple stores today and didn't see anything I thought was going to hold up to trail abuse very well. Thats the last thing we have to do to ours to finish the job. But here's the finished product. Took us about 3 1/2 hours to finish both Jeeps. Turned out better than I expected. I was a little nervous to say the least to take a jigsaw and a saws-all to our Jeeps, lol. But much better turn out than i expected. Wicked happy with it and highly recommend it to anyone thinking about it. Stop thinking and just hack her!

Did mine this weekend!!! Pics to come....not as easy as I thought it would be at one point I had to check the bank account to see if I could just bite the bullet and bye some flatties. I took some hours off and came back at it Sunday...actually turned out better than I thought I was going to. Not perfect,...but not a train wreck either.

Anyone in PA want to do a cut party? I'm nervous as hell but I like this idea.

Safe to assume to do my stubby bumper cut FIRST before this? I have a JKU with the matching flares.

Might as well do em together. We were gonna stubby the bumpers but I picked out poison spyder rear tire carrier combo that we can't afford yet. He agreed that instead of spending the money for the stubby kit and winch mount only to swap later we would just order the fronts now. That's only bc we had the money due to his recent deployment though.

It ends up looking really good. I was nervous as all hell to cut mine and hers too, but as soon as you cut one, the others come pretty easily.
