DIY Headliner?

Was wondering if anyone has successfully made their own hardtop headliner to reduce noise and/or heat?

I love taking on DIY projects, but wanted to see if it would be worth the time and $. Perhaps I'm just better off with a HotHeads/Mopar/Boom Mat

Awesome! Thank you for sharing your process and experiences! I think I may just have a go at it myself.

The only thing I would update from my write up is that the double sided tape did not hold up through the summer. I liked the way my headliners turned out so I actually used epoxy to permanently mount them to the hard top. I figured if they got messed up I would just replace them and put more epoxy down.

Got it. I was planning on using velcro industrial / extreme...I seem to recall that they claim to not be affected by high temps, and I suspect that may be what caused your double sided tape to fail. Like you, if that doesn't work, I'll attach them permanently. Thanks again!
