I don't want to pay the $200 for the insulation panels for the roof of my hard top because it seems like it's nothing more than some foam panels something I could easily make myself. They look like just black foam panels I could cut to size but I don't know where to buy the foam panels. I looked at Home Depot thinking they'd be easy to find but not so much. Anyone know where to get those foam panels or should I suck it up and buy the panels...would be fun to do my own project though.
Got the rest of the supplies today...
Got a roll of the radiant barrier bubble wrap type of insulation (Looks identical to the windshield sun visors people put up in their front windshields and is shiny on both sides)
Got a spray adhesive (3M Adhesive 77)
My plan is to adhere the insulation to the inside surface of the top (Cutting holes for where the sound bar speakers are to avoid interfering with the satellite radio)
Then I plan to adhere the black carpet to the under side of the installed insulation.
My main hope is for it to make the underside of the top cooler for when I remove it and it would other wise be too hot to touch. 2nd and 3rd (Cooler temps inside and better stereo sound with top on due to less wind/road noise)would be great but are again just secondary goals
