Does 2011 fit 2012?

I keeping looking and shopping for stuff for my Jeep and I come across a bunch of stuff I like that says it will fit the 2011 JK Unlimited but doesn't mention the 2012. Will most things that fit on the 2011 fit the 2012...if so what type of things wouldn't?

Whatever fits an 11 will fit a 12.

I can't answer for very much..but here are a few facts..a LOT of the interior was changed from '11 to '12. The trash container that mounts on backside of console won't interchange...I found out the hard way...well wasn't too hard was at BASELINE 4x4 and we weren't sure so we tried it....there are 2 "hook pieces" on the back of console that keep it from fitting.

I THINK MOST exterior parts would be okay...but not sure.

The exterior is the same since 07. The interior is the same on the 11 as it is the 12. The drivetrain including exaust is different other then axles and driveshafts. The computers and electrical also varies but is mostly different.

I had the same questions when I bought my 2011 Wrangler 4-door. Nothing at that time mentioned for 2011, only up to 2010. I would call and double check fit before I spent any money.

if you're talking engine parts/filters/oil/exhaust, then no it won't fit. as said, the exterior is the same as the previous JKs except the hardtop and softop have larger windows.

the only difference between the '11 and '12 interior is the shifter. on the manual trans, there is an upgraded boot to prevent pop outs (not visibly different). In the auto, the shifter has a 2-1 slot in the '11 and in the '12s it just has a +/- instead.

It depends on what you're looking for. There are more differences between '11 and '12. My '12 needed a mod to the exhaust for the lift for example that the '11 did not require. The interior of the '11 has a few differences between it and my '12, but they're pretty minor.

The engine is obviously different, and we're still figuring out what will and won't fit there.

I've got a snorkel on order from Rugged Ridge that I'm waiting to get in so we can see if that's going to fit my 2012 as well so I can order a 2nd. ATM they're saying it won't fit.

I ordered bumpers from Poison Spyder Customs Friday. He said the 2012's have a canister that I may have to relocate in order to mount that bumper. I haven't pulled my stock one off yet to verify this, but I seriously doubt he's lying to me about it. He said he wasn't sure exactly how people were making the fit, but he has been selling them to people with 2012's.

So long story short, some stuff will fit, and some won't. Only way to be sure is to ask.
