Does anyone else have this happen?

On my 07 auto JKU 40k miles that I've had since I bought used at 20k miles and it's always started up great except some starts will be a bit different but will always fire up( this has happened since purchase). Let me explain.. If its the first start this will not happen it turns over once or twice like normal and starts like a breeze. The issue is once the engine is warmed up and I say stop at the store turn it off and return minutes even seconds later to start it up and it will turn over or crank multiple times like 6-8 times like its having trouble or it's flooded. This is puzzling and happens maybe 20% of each start once it's warmed? This is the best way I can explain it. My only explanation and this is a huge guess is theirs still some un burnt fuel in the combustion chamber and it's trying to burn it all before the engine will fire up? Lets say i go for a 20 minute burn shut the jeep off and turn it back on right after their a very high possibility it will do it. But if i go to a friends leave it till the engine cools right down it will not do it...! Any input would be great sorry if I didn't explain it but ill reiterate if I have to.

One place to START looking would be to check for spark while engine is still hot. Could be the ECM is malfunctioning when warmed up??
Just a guess. One has to start someplace.
Ya gotta have
1. spark
2. fuel.
3. air
or it will not run.
Good luck.

There is a Chrysler TSB #08-023-07. It talks about long cranks, and multiple attempts to start the engine. The fix to the problem would be a new crank sensor part number 4686353. I hope this helps!!

Thank you very much yes it's multiple cranks about 15-20% of starts with the engine hot. I mentioned it to the dealer but they couldnt reenact it even though I explained it very thoroughly to them obviously they haven't seen that TSB? This is why I hate taking the jeep in I never trust them if I tell them what's up it ends up them fixing something un related masking the issue and then it's either still prominent or fixed for a week they don't know shit I've been to 3 different dealers because the first was super money hungry and it felt like going to jiffy lube with a 1990 geo that's never seen a shop, the second like I said their would be a problem like my leaking intake manifold gasket and they replaced the water pump at my cost... The third im still working with but they aren't really mod friendly I don't know I'm at a point where I don't even give a shit as long as I don't spend anymore fucking money enough said cheers gents

Yeah always fires but some it will crank up more than usual. I've owned lots of vehicles including lots of jeeps and never ever has this happened on any starts.. It either fires up normally or doesn't fire at all. But this JKU blows me away constantly I really do question Chrysler and its workmanship on alot of wranglers especially the 07. My old commander felt more solid under the hood I would never second guess it and it worked like it was bred for work I offloaded contantly installed snorkel BB lift and 33" tires. Then one day I realized I should upgrade to the real deal so i traded commander and threw down 5 grand for my JKU. Honestly I don't know If this thing ever seen a shop in its life or the old owners abused the shit outta it buts it been nothing but trouble I keep modding it but I'm getting very worried as the repair bill are nearly at par with mods and I'm not including general maintenance and gas! My girlfriend teases me all the time saying her patriot wouldnt get as far offroad then the wrangler but would get out without a flat bed having to come rescue me out of the bush!!(that actually happened)

That is unfortunate. I'm not sure where u r from, but I work the parts counter at a Jeep dealership. And as a Jeep worker and owner I make it my business to know as much as I can about these vehicles. We have an unlimited amout of tools at our disposal. Some people just dont take the time to use them. My advice, find a better dealer that has people who care. Best of luck to u friend...

yup. same thing here. there is no rhyme or reason to it either. the only consistency to the issue is it only happens once the jeep has be running, then shut off. never on the first start up of the day.

i use 87 octane as well. we plan on changing the CPS soon.
