Does it bother you if you see people in perfect weather for naked and they arent?

I never understand why some people buy a wrangler and never go naked. In both my past two wrangler I went naked every chance I could.

I never understand why people care so much about what other people are doing
This pretty much sums it up in a nut shell.
It must suck living your life worrying about what other people do.

Nope. I don't particularly care what other people do as long as it's not hurting anyone else. I don't know their life story, or why they bought a wrangler. I had a 4 door wrangler before it was cool. That bugged a lot of people too. I also prefer burgers to steak, and I don't like any type of seafood. I probably shouldn't throw stones.

I see quite a few wrangler here in my area and the ones I see over and over never take top or doors off. Maybe some people just don't realize the vehicle can do that.

Mine has to park outside (garage houses a car with no motor and my wifes JGC), I live in a big city with a lot of bad people. Takes me an ~hour to go naked... another to go back again... I have way better things to do with 2 hours of my day, plus I need to have a friend come over and help with the clam shell... both times.
Now if I'm going wheeling... naked all the way.
So, when I see others all closed up, I figure they are in the same boat as me.

If I had a 3 car garage, the JK would never have the doors or top on.

Some might wonder why people who have insurance never try to get into car accidents.

The answer is: Just in case.

I would buy a Wrangler if it was fully enclosed and no removable hard top - as in the case of a G-Wagen or an old 2-door Montero (I had one and loved it). I've also had convertibles and loved those, too. The Wrangler's appeal to me is not that it's a convertible - it's because it's a capable 4WD vehicle that can go where others can't go.

The real question is: Why do some care what others do with something they bought for their own enjoyment? We have enough in the way of government trying to tell us what to do with what we have... a Wrangler is one of the last bastions of freedom and freedom is defined by the owner - not someone else.

Let everyone drive like they want.....naked, or not,.....off road, or on road, as long as they are driving a Jeep.

More Jeeps being sold means that manfactuting issues should be solved by Mopar, aftermarket parts are better and more plentiful, and more people are thinking up mods that may be something that I want to do.

Hey....it's a mod....not one I would have done, but I will bring the beers....we can talk Jeeps, drink a few beers, and watch the fish swim.

as the mpg and safety requirements increase they will need ways to make the Wrangler stronger and lighter, if the doors weren't removable they could use them to increase structural rigidity and remove the hinges to have better aerodynamics.....kinda the same reason they will most likely have the windshield in a fixed position on JL.

I'm not saying it will happen tomorrow, but I could see it happening eventually. I believe automakers are supposed to have an average mpg of 50(?) by 2025.

Very true, still dosnt have anything to do with the original reply I quoted. (Well maybe not the useing the doors to increase structural rigidity part)

It doesn't bother me what others are or aren't doing, but I fear that the less people who take the doors off then the more likely FCA is to remove that feature, just like the folding windshield that will most likely end with the JK.
The reasons above will be the downfall of the doors, not because people didn't take advantage of a beautiful day.

What bothers me IS the state of PA and their over controlling Nanny state bullshit that typically exists in States of PAs political leaning will Ticket me for driving without my doors which technically prohibits me from using my Jeep to it's Full Relaxation Potential.

That's what pisses me off.

(See thread Driving Doorless in PA)

^^^they do send questionnaires to new customers asking them the most important features that determined their purchase.
It's yet to be seen if JL will have half doors, for example.

My first jeep, the 97 tj sport I owned, was half doors and I loved it. Once I bought the 14 JKUR that had full doors and oremium soft top, I got spoiled and so I ordered my new rubi with full doors and dual tops. I would have went with the JKR but I don't wanna have it then have a Kid or something and need more room.

i take the doors and top off every chance i get. being able to easily take the doors and top off in 20 minutes is what separates the wrangler from the other vehicles on the road.

i dont really care that others dont use the feature, but i think they are missing out!

Today was mid 70's with partially clouded skies. Perfect for no doors or top. Did I take them off? Nope. I would have just had to put them back on this evening since it's going to rain tonight and tomorrow.

I did open the windows though. Maybe that will make you happy. If not, I really don't care. Your feelings about how I configure my Jeep mean nothing to me.

I just get annoyed with myself if I'm unable to on a nice day. Especially in this March/April time in the Northeast. One day is great, next day winter is back. The soft top will be on soon which always gets more usage but I don't hate on anyones Jeep.. only if they don't wave back!
