Does this seem right to you?!

OK, major winter storm up here in Minnesota...sleet/freezing rain followed up by 6-10 inches of new snow, helped out by 40 mph winds. Anyway, I just got a 2011 Sahara last week (I've formerly had a 2001 Wrangler Sport) and so it had its first good workout in 4WD.

My concern is this: Even in 4H, my traction control light kept coming on when I hit some ticklish spots on the road. I don't ever remember that happening in my '01. I always thought when you went 4H or 4L it negated that traction control stuff? Is this something new in the late models?

Thoughts? Thanks!

Only in 4l does the traction control shut off. In 4h you need to shut it off manualy.

There is an ESP selector switch on your dash either by your left hand near the steering wheel (2011 models) or behind your gear shift like previous JK models. ESP can only be partially disengaged in 2H and 4H. 4L turns it off completely.

Unfortunately the new jeeps don't come with an owners manual anymore..ugh! They come with a "user's guide" which could be titled "jeeping for dummies". I tried downloading an o.m. from jeep.com but I could only get half of it to download and then when i tried to open that file it said it was corrupted. Grr!

I always enjoy reading the o.m. on every new vehicle I get...just to see all of the little secret tricks or whatever. I'll figure things out as I go I guess...thanks in part to sifting through this forum!

And oh yeah...I had a 5 ft drift blocking my driveway this morning...I may need to snowblow that outta the way before I go out driftbusting...can't get a running start at it! It's also 5 below zero!

I understand the MN winters way to well. As stated above, love the yellow Jeeps. Just looking out my window at a 10' high drift in front of the hog house, a lot of digging out tomarrow when the wind goes down.
